How is this ruling out before the Pats one?

Betts .... from .346 to .295 (career .301)
JD.........from .330 to .304 (career .294)
Simply a coincidence lmfao

uh... this sign stealing only applied when there was a runner on 2nd base. That occurred for Betts on 90 out of his 614 plate appearances. Those 90 plate appearances resulted in 62 at bats and he had 21 hits, a .339 average.

With bases empty, Betts hit .358 in 409 PA's (360 AB).

Tomorrow night, RIGHT after pick 22, RG comes out on Zoom and starts « we have concluded our investigation. The NE Patriots will be docked........ » and then the video freezes. By the time ESPN figures out the glitch, it pans back to Brunell - tears running down his cheeks.

I'm not an 'informed person' on this matter so I'm really asking to know, but are we sure this is true. I thought the whole concept is that when a guy is at second that was 'legal sign stealing' by a player but the whole issue here is that they had a camera analyzing signs the entire time.

I can't wait to see this guy...although I'm a bit worried being that he's "infectious"...

Admire his courage to want to "change the world":

I really want him to show me how to ignore the laws of physics, so I don't have to check the pressure or inflate my tires ever again.

Here, read the MLB's document:

Here's the relevant summary:

  • I find that unlike the Houston Astros’ 2017 conduct, in which players communicated to the batter from the dugout area in real time the precise type of pitch about to be thrown, Watkins’s conduct, by its very nature, was far more limited in scope and impact. The information was only relevant when the Red Sox had a runner on second base (which was 19.7% of plate appearances league-wide in 2018), and Watkins communicated sign sequences in a manner that indicated that he had decoded them from the in-game feed in only a small percentage of those occurrences.

Does this really matter!

ALL of the people involved - the Houston guys, the Red Sox guys, Beltran, whoever - should have received Indefinite suspensions from Organized Baseball until further notice, including a term of no less than 3 years...Period.

Those "punishments" are a feckin joke.

Kind of laughing that the “fall guy” was a video employee who probably just loved working for his team. Pretty sure he wasn’t the orchestrator of this. I guess this is how the world works in any scandal.

Now imagine other NFL teams being honest and saying they did a lot of things like Spygate and football air pressure adjustments. Lol.

The Astros yes. The Red Sox no - what they did was not near that level and this was noted in the MLB decision.
