Why tank for Lawrence if we’re going to have a crack at Burrow next year?Lawrence. Trade great players for future 1sts, tank then rise like a mofo Phoenix.
Can we just put weapons around Stidham and Sign Mariota as a free agent please that truly makes the most sense.
Every year this forum underestimates what most free agents will end up getting.I suspect you think Mariota will cost less than he actually will cost.
I’m coming around to the idea that the only way to improve the offense - to an acceptable level - is to trade Gilmore. But it needs to be for a known commodity. Can’t trade the reigning DPOY for a mere chance at a good player. Gilmore for Hopkins is a trade I like and don’t think is that insane. Houston would have a transformed defense with Gilmore and still have playmakers to move the ball. Patriots would have a greatly improved offense instantly and could still field a pretty good secondary.

Trading Gilmore would result in a $15.3 million dead cap hit, which is more than Hopkins' salary in 2020. The trade makes sense for neither team. Hopkins is probably the best receiver in the league and on a team-friendly deal (his cap hit is a mere $14m this year, lower than players like TY Hilton, Allen Robinson, or Jarvis Landry's for the same remaining length of the deal). The Texans are a playoff team. Hopkins isn't going anywhere.

Can’t believe this is actually not a crazy idea. I personally think it’d be crazy, but I also believe BB would go this route.I just hope and pray we are not cheering for friggin Andy Dalton come September!
