You keep arguing the same thing and I keep responding with the same response. Let's just stop.
Ok. I’ll end with this.
We have 2 receivers that Brady has ever thrown a pass to. One is out indefinitely. The other was a vital contributor who caught 76% of his targets and caught the only 2 TD passes Brady threw in the post season.
I don’t want to cut that guy and keep a second year player who couldn’t cut it last year and an undrafted free agent, who combined have seen zero nfl passes.

I hope he can minimize mistakes, just like I hope all players minimize them. Here is what I’m saying : all players have strengths and weaknesses and I think it’s a tad silly to highlight a few plays that went awry when you have an exceptional player at your disposal.

As you say, every player makes mistakes, even the greatest of them (i.e., Brady). However, it seems a little surprising to be focusing on the mistakes of someone who is obviously as focused on eliminating them as Gilmore.Under BB's tutalage he has gone from a talented CB to a clear All-Pro, clearly one of the best two CBs in the league. He just seems like an unusual choice o be focused on to highlight his mistakes, when he is so clearly devoted to eliminating them.

Harris is older than Dorsett, and Dorsett has been the better player to this point in their respective careers. So, I'm not sure how we're defining "fair", here, and I'm not saying that there's no way that Harris can ever possibly be better than Dorsett but, so far, there is nothing that would indicate that Harris has a higher upside than Dorsett.

"Older" in this case being literally less than 2 months older
Dorsett has had Andrew Luck and Tom Brady as his QB's. Harris has had Cousins, Smith, Josh Johnson and Sanchez. It is 'fair' to say under excellent circumstance Dorsett has been at best average, he is what he is. Under less than good circumstances Harris has been average, it is fair to say under excellent circumstances he may have a higher upside.

Nah, it's not dishonest because you clearly included the fact he was on a SB roster on purpose as if that mere fact was testimony to how good he is.

I like Dorsett and think he's a lot better than people are saying but argue in good faith for once in your life.

PS - I'm super enraged by calling me Fjord, very Presidential of you to try childish insults mang.

Shame

I’m not a big Dorsett proponent but he definitely has a place on the roster. He has made contributions and is reliable when thrown to. Edelman, Harry, Dorsett, Gordon (if he returns). That’s the group to go with.

Dishonest fjord.
Take words out of context and pretend they mean something they don’t. Shame.

The comment was “dorsett is only a wr4” and I said he was often a wr2 or wr3, on a Sb champ, so that’s wrong.
But he was only a WR 2 or WR 3 due to....oh my god. You’ve done it. You sucked me in Andy. I’ve, Ive got to step away for a while and have a long hard talk with myself. What was it that prompted a response? Was it the beer? Was it the fact that you used the words dishonest before fnords name? Was it because you called him fjord and not fnord? I just don’t know who I am anymore. Carry on....

You are talking in circles.
You already said this, and my response was you can’t seriously trust injury reports from Foxboro.
Your response was you can in the preseason because they practice when they are healthy.
I said yeah, he isn’t practicing and you circled back to the reports that we agree aren’t reliable.
I hope he is back and ready to play week 1 but I am skeptical which brings us back to the discussion, do you really want to face Pitt with Harry, berrios, Meyers and Kendrick as your receiving corps?

Gotta love when Andy runs his mouth and ignores players like James White and Sony Michel. RBs out of the backfield have always been an issue for Pittsburgh in the passing game.

Talk about making a load of assumptions there, Andy.

As for the report about Edelman. Guess you missed that Sterling Shepard of the Giants just broke his thumb. They said he'd be out 2 weeks. So, the idea that Edelman being out 3 weeks isn't that far fetched. Furthermore, Andy, we know he didn't have surgery. Even with the Dome of Silence that hovers over Foxboro, news like that gets out.

Reading these posts, the only thing that makes sense to me is that Andy is trying to become the #1 poster on the forum.

Just looked it up, RW is ahead of Andy by about 2,500 posts, so Andy must be figuring for every post by RW, he has to post 3 or 4 to eventually catch up. I think we should cut Andy some slack, dude has goals.

Either that or has some sort of 'unable to ever acknowledge the merit of an argument to the contrary let alone admit to possibly being wrong' pathology.

I actually like Andy but I just have to only respond 2 times and move on or else he'll take an hour out of my day.

Based on the current roster and depth of experience behind Edelman, it would seem reasonable to think that Dorsett will make the final 53.

The early comments coming from camp re Harry/Harris/Myers sound encouraging and hopefully they will continue to improve and show up in the pre season games.

I am a little concerned about the WR depth but hope that we get some production from the TE's to compensate. However in saying all this , I have to believe that the coaching staff will get the best out of them.....fingers crossed

That's ok. I get it. Dorsett is a decent bench player. His ypc was last of all wr and 2nd to Dwayne Allen for all non RBs. Once a better WR comes along he gets buried and doesn't see the field as he does not play ST.

It seems like people are building him up for more than he is.

Remember Berrios was on IR last year.

Edelman can't be placed on PUP. He'd be placed on NFI since that's where he's at now.
I know. I was trying to get a sense for how concerned Andy was about the thumb.

No matter what anyone thinks he can do - and I think he is a good soldier who makes the team - it is pretty hard to dispute that he hasn’t met anyone’s expectations. Maybe he’s a late bloomer, like Doug Baldwin, but that’s rare.

Dorsett is fine. However if he's on the 2019 roster and playing 50 snaps a game that means none of the kids stepped up and Josh and DT stayed on the shelf. I don't think anyone wants that.
