2018-19 Stanley Cup - Bruins vs Blues

Yep...they really should've scored 3 goals in the first period alone. Love to see them bury more of those chances and play with a bit larger cushion.

And Marchand with the other team's net empty is Money.
You always wonder about matchups. Especially from a team they do not play a lot. It is only 1 game but we dominated them in the last 2 periods. I hope it is the norm and a sign of a favorable match up. But I do understand it is only one game.

Marchand not only buries empty netter’s but you know he is going to steal the puck to get the chance. Such a little nat. But our little nat

why are the three pitt pro teams all use the same colors? even their college pitt panthers..

Your math is still off.

While I appreciate your tutoring so that I can solve the math problem myself and pass your course, maybe you could just explain it? Steelers entered NFL in 1933; Patriots in 1967 merger. Is it 35 seasons?

My only question is, do you prefer Nacho Cheese, Cool Ranch or something different during the game?

I'm superstitious.
Just Woburn's finest, Boom Sauce.

Not a big chips guy at all. My username is in mockery of the Wells Report and specifically, tweedle dee (McNally) calling tweedle dum (Jastremski) "Dorito Dink" in the leaked text messages.

I would appreciate a Game of Thrones vs Washington Redskins thread please.

If Season 8 counts, the Redskins wipe the floor with GoT.

Here's the magic equation. 1960 - 1933 = 27

The AFL was more like the eventual NFL than the NFL was...if that makes sense :D

I agree - a bit of a **** move on my part. I also agree with your overall analysis! Good stuff.

Yeah...difference of opinion there. I kind of held firm on NFL membership, keeping the Browns and 49ers to NFL-only instead of AAFC as well. I understand your point about the AFL being comparable to the NFL, but no team can legitimately claim an AFL Title towards their banner count. Unless of course you want Chargers and Bills fans chest thumping this summer :)

Ehhh...it’s all good. I was off by ten years on initial post.

Screw Pukeburg, Tomlin accusing BB of cheating was such a low, cheap, despicable move, I hope they obliterate them 50 - zip in the opener. Ben is a fat, annoying, finger pointing oaf.

Storied franchise, bleh, they went from winning to whining, they're an embarrassment....

They went from 40 years of being the league’s worst franchise - to a brief 6 year period of dominance - to another 25 years of zilch - to a 4 year window producing two more SBs - and now 10 more and counting of futility. Regarding that last team of 2005-08, that team/tenure has now turned themselves into unredeemable PT Bartum exhibits.

So they were a dominant team for six (steroid tainted) years, out of an 86 year history.

What an amazing franchise. Has any team ever won more than six titles in 86 years? Or is this a record?

In the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2010s combined, they have 2 title game appearances (no wins)

Let's not go overboard here, people.

- If we go by Super Bowls, the Steelers are tied for #1.
- They've won 6 Super Bowls, which gives them a 5 (or more) Super Bowl lead over 19 other teams. Last time I checked, winning 6 Super Bowls was an impressive achievement.
- While debatable, I would consider their dynasty in the 70's the 2nd greatest dynasty of the Super Bowl era
- If we go by NFL Championships, they are tied for #4.

Can't believe I am defending Pittsburgh, but that's how strong the stupidity in this thread is. To act like they are merely average is ridiculous.

That makes perfect sense to me. Once the NYFL decided to start playing like the AFL the league took off.

I have been following the chat as I watch the games. You guys chatting have been much more positive than the Patriots game day threads. Have to say Playoff Hockey kicks ass. Go B’s. Triple Crown

The GDT''s on hockey forums aren't quite as manic as they are here but they aren't all that far from it. Which has a lot to do with why some of us choose to post here instead. ;)

If the still pic above isn't enough to convince you of the error of that opinion take another look at the video. Freeze it at 58 seconds, Krug not only didn't leave his feet but was gliding when contact was made. Textbook open ice hit

Textbook is right.
Refused to take the bait at the one end, and took it out by absolutely leveling the first guy he could in a hit that was clean and made hockey sense.

Coming up next: As a coach, Alex Cora is better than (delusional) Vince Lombardi

8 Championship Game appearances in 86 seasons. Less than one per decade. Closer to average than elite if you’re counting their entire history (which their fans count as a good thing, since they have the most SB wins for a legacy team; however, that history is a double edged sword, at the very least.)

How are the Bruins not more impressive? In roughly the same amount of time, they have as many championships and way more championship appearances. Why is that a stupid conclusion to draw?
