2018-19 Stanley Cup - Bruins vs Blues

People in Massachusetts love making fun of NC (as this thread indicates). Meanwhile, I have never met a single person who lived in Mass and lived in NC and preferred Mass (and I know a lot of people who lived in both places).
I think people from the North generally like to poke at people from the South and vice-versa... I doubt anyone really has any major hate for modern Carolina... vacationed down there years ago, very pleasant, easy going.. I can see why they say that

I’m not calling it “hate”, it’s just the usual redneck, one-tooth jokes and the like. Anyone that says that about NC hasn’t obviously not been there in the past quarter century.

It doesn’t bother me, I just find it funny that people in Mass are making fun of a place that even ex-Mass residents consider a much better place to live.

I still want St Louis to win. San Jose doesn't deserve to be where they are right now.
Why is that? They were #2 in their conference same as the Bruins. Bruins won 3 more games than they did. They are a good team.

Unless this is about the hand pass, which isn't their fault if NHL rules are screwed up. They won two 7 game series in a row (sure they had some fortunate calls go their way, again not their fault). Coming back from a 3-1 game deficit shows resilience.

Maybe you're right, rather face the Blues.

Hell, it isn’t like we don’t talk junk about Yankees.

It wasnt that way years ago.

Mass was a great state.

Massachusetts and New England are great to visit. But I love living in South Carolina.

Yup. Moved to NC in spring '17 after living in MA between 91-93 and then 01-17.

We literally wouldn't move back to MA under any circumstances; well that's not true, if some company offered to triple my salary I would consider it...but since I brought my Boston based salary with me, that doesn't seem like it would be in the cards.

Every place has it's warts obviously, but NC (at least the Triangle, Triad and the coast, havent been to Charlotte and Asheville yet) is really nice.

Just gonna leave these here...

People still watch NHL? Lol.

Boston won’t win the cup with Tuuka Rask.

Neither the bruins or leafs are good enough to win the cup .

They’ll take care of the Bruins. Don’t worry.

NYI, Columbus, and Washington have a better shot to come out of the East (in that order). I would put Boston 4th on the list. I’m not sold on Rask. He let in another soft one today.

Rask sucks

My 9-1 odds on the cup looking good

We may not have 'met' but here I am, there goes that 'never.'. That being said, it was in the 80's so I can't speak to the folks who have lived in both more recently.

Has anyone conducted a wellness check?

Given some of the revisionist editing that's been applied to a goodly number of the early posts in this thread I have every reason to believe the troll(s) are still alive and unwell

Asheville is nice in a tourist-y sense. I’d say the closest local equivalent is the Berkshires.

Yeah not sure your experience from 30+ years ago counts....

Not to get to into the "Life of RobertWeathers" but soph year in college my perception of her was this prissy, diva, annoying, high-maintenance, *****. I wanted no part of that. Had a finals project for a class we were both in. Names out of a hat-type thing. She was the leader and was being really pushy about finishing at a certain time. We were skipping steps, 1/2 ass work and the dork in my me was fretting about the grade (she was eventually Summa Cum Laude so GPA was clearly that was not an issue with her).

I was like WTF.

Her response:

"I'm not missing Bruins/Canadians for this ******** class".

I'll let you speculate what my next move was.:p

Bahahaha. That's awesome.

I cannot wait to move the F out of Massachusetts.

If it wasn't home and my friends and family live here and the schools I'd be so outta here.

I figure another 15 years before I split time between Southern NH and somewhere south of the Mason/Dixon line.

Depending upon how one defines home, MA was never mine.

If home is where you were born, home was OH.
If home is where you cut your teeth in life, then Jakarta Indonesia was home.
If home is where your parent(s), siblings live, then it would be MA.

Home as I define it, is where I am with my wife and kids, so for now, NC is home. It may not be forever, but ill deal with forever at another time.

My wife was a born in MA, but having spent some years in HS/post HS out in NorCal (Morgan Hill, ~8 miles south of San Jose), she grew to hate it.

Depending on what you mean by school (Primary vs College) there are good ones here, especially colleges. My daughter starts kindergarten in July (Year Round, tracted schools in Wake County) so we will learn about the quality first hand shortly.
