1100 yards in his first season in the patriots complex offense

He torched all pro cornerbacks from Jacksonville in the afc championship game

Only 24 years old still hasn’t reached his prime yet...he’s the future of our offense

not too bad for a player that we used a 1st rounder to get.

He had a very productive year, contributing in multiple ways (deep, intermediate, end arounds) and from all accounts Belichick loves his attitude. I don't know what his future is here, but I think he has a chance to improve on last year.

If by future you mean possibly the 2018 & '19 seasons. Unfortunately with the stupid money being paid by some teams at the position it's hard to picture him being here long term. If he's not moved this off season then it's hard to envision much more than this year and maybe one more on the tag.

He was good, but the media idiots don't realize he wasn't brought here to be "the guy", he was brought here to take the proverbial top off and open things up more for Edelman, gronkowski In Brady's favored 10 yard area between the #s....so instead of being satisfied w his productive season, theyre ripping him because he didn't have 1400 yards and 15 td....

Certainly wish he was more productive on 3d down though...

that would require the QB getting the ball to him

he had a higher YPC than with the saints but a lower Tgt/Rec percentage.......he did blow the proverbial top off but that play tends to be relatively low percetage

I think his injury was the 2nd biggest contributor to the pats loss in the superbowl.......only butlers benching had a bigger impact

A decent year (or two) won't translate into the patriots paying him $15M a year on an extension, or $18M for one year (the franchise tag).

decent year

too bad he went full ****** in the superbowl
Funny that this post got a dislike, but that’s essentially what Cooks did. Failure to cut upfield down in the red zone followed by him doing an impression of Chris Brown shortly before being knocked out cold qualifies as full ******.

He's a great top 10 WR (although not worth the insane money he'll be worth for 2019) but I found myself disappointed all year long with Cooks' ability after the catch. That was on full display for 2 of the most unfortunate plays of the Super Bowl: a key 4th down and the play he got knocked out.

It was a quasi rookie mistake. He’s still sub elite to elite. I’m hoping to see what he can do after a Montana trip maybe

I wish cbs couldn’t hold his arms down while he’s running a route
Troy Brown was on WEEI yesterday. He mentioned that defenses adjusted to Cooks midway through the season by pressing him off of his routes.

Two noticeably awful plays. That is for sure.

True but he did make some good plays. I noticed that defenses became more aggressive with him and were willing to foul

Tough crowd here....with the way Brady chews up and discards receivers ...Cook did more in his first season with Brady than anyone else not named Moss....

He's gonna have a career year this season imo, 2nd year in the system, Edelman factor if you get what im saying
