Tom Brady gets JACKED UP against Pittsburgh

I don't know what it is about the Pittsburgh Steelers that gets Brady's blood boiling, but whatever it is just keep it going. Tom Brady seems to take it to another level when he plays with the steelers, not just in passing efficiency, but in emotional firepower. The man's emotions comes out in full force, he gets fired up like I have never seen him, and he knows in the back of his mind he owns the steelers. It's a confidence that is at it's peak right now. Let's hope that past success continues to next sunday night.

It's probably because the Steelers have been the class of the AFC for a long time, along with the Patriots, Ravens and Colts. The Jets have only become relevant in the past 3 seasons outside of divisional games.

From 2001-2010, the Steelers regular season record was 206-53. They are certainly not an easy opponent.

In that time, Brady's QB Rating vs. the Steelers is 104.1, higher than any other opponent with a minimum of 5 starts. (Poor Jacksonville takes the cake overall at 118.4 in 3 career games).

Against the Steelers, Brady is 4-1 (2-0 playoffs). He has completed 68.1% of his throws (147/216). He has thrown 12 TD's and only 3 INT's.

Also, remember in 2008 Matt Cassel was 13/39 for 169 0 TD 2 INT. Its tough to say that its just the Patriots system or the Pats offensive line. Brady just has it in for the Black and Gold.

Love it when he destroys the Steelers. The Steelers fans are some of the most classless I have come across. Some are good fans, but a high % of them are total a-holes. Cheering when Brady got hurt, talking a ton of S*** after the 04 Halloween game, and going on about spygate. Some of them just seem to be really bad people as well. I have met some good Steelers fans who are nice people, so I am not saying all of them. I am saying more than most teams.

That's not including a 2-0 record against the steelers in the playoffs. I thought the 04 AFC championship game played by Brady with a 103 fever the night before, was one of the greatest performances of his career. 41 points and 130 QB rating against the NFL's # 1 Defense who went 15-1 that year. Hit Branch in stride on 60 and 45 yard lazor bombs.

That's because they're hard to respect as an organization and as people. The Steelers are much more professional and much classier from the top-down.

I count 2002, 2005, 2007, 2010 regular seasons wins and a 2004 regular season loss, with 2001 and 2004 playoff victories (although Bledsoe took over when he was injured in 2001) Is this correct?

Really? That's what your going with?
In that case, in a couple decades when the Jets reach the Steelers' historical consistency, maybe TB will start approaching them with the same level of intensity.
I think it has to do with Pittsburgh being very direct about what they do on defense. They do not offer the same level of surprise that NYJ do - a guy like Brady can pick you apart with that. On the other hand, Revis and Cro play great man defense and Rex Ryan really does a great job mixing things up - blitzing a running back?! I actually feel the Jets and Rex are in TB's head.

I know this is not what you should take out of that clip, but I came away missing Crumpler and Sanders...

There are so many Steelers fans around me at work. They always happy to play their games each Sunday.

When I mention that Brady is coming to town, they always seem to calm down and put those lame towels down. We own them and they know it.

The Steelers - Patriots games have been for major stakes in terms of playoffs or playoff seeding, plus the Steelers tend to lay some kind of smack-talk challenge out there requiring a Patriots/Brady response.

The Steelers looked good against the Cardinals yesterday, so what started out as a fairly manageable game looks like a true test for the Pats coming out of their bye week. The Steelers offense had a big day and limited Ben to taking just two sacks and no interceptions. Time of possession was huge for the Steelers.

This week's game creeps me out for the Pats, especially since the Steelers can't afford a loss to fall further behind Baltimore in the division and the other wild card contenders with two losses.

Your take on this week's game would be helpful, especially whatever they're saying in Pittsburgh about the injured players on offense and defense.

I read an article (it was right before the Jets/Pats playoff game last year) where **** Lebou said that his blitzes are not working against Brady and will have to change his defensive approach against him.

Don't be surprised if we see the Steelers blitz a little less and drop more in coverage to try and confuse Brady.

I don't think Harrison is playing, everything I have read has him returning in 2 more weeks at least.

You'll see Timmons on Brady's left and Woodley on the Right with Farrior and Foote in the Middle for the 3-4 defense sets and you'll see a secondary of Troy, Clark, Gay, Lewis and Taylor for the Nickle with Foote off the field for Lewis. Base will have Gay and Taylor at the CB. McFadden has officially lost his starting job at Corner.

Wasn't the guy who was marketing that Pollard fan club shirt a Steeler fan?

I actually live in South Jersey so I am out of the loop, but I think Dino summarized the Pittsburgh D depth chart pretty well above.

These Pittsburgh/Patriots games have a distinct Dook-Carolina feel. Two world class franchises with great tradition who deeply respect and somewhat dislike each other.
