now, I ain't sayin she a gold digga....

LOL, nothing to do with Marvin, friend. Has to do with insinutating its okay to handle a women to any extent. Oh ya, @$$clown.

So you had no problem with Marvin getting sued for beating up 2 kids?

The fact that he said she was a friend of his leads me to believe that there could be a relationship between them but I believe Randy's story about this woman trying to get money out of this. At least for now. But we don't know yet.

If there was any truth to the allegations, then there is no way that Randy Moss is commenting on it publically.

Supports my thoughts that the complaint is false.

Bingo. Moss and his handlers aren't dummies. His lawyers/agents would tell him to keep his mouth shut if there was anything to it. No need to give anyone any extra evidence.

But by basically coming out and saying he is being extorting really puts a LOT of pressure on the accuser.

What he desribed is an extortion attempt. Woman got hurt, then approached Moss demanding money under the threat of making accusations that he hurt her and that she would make the accusations before a big game, he refused, she followed through with that threat. We'll see how it shakes out.

You mean blackmail.

And of course, Randy's going to say this. He has to soften the blow somehow.

I'd wait to see if there is a police report, if there isn't, then the most Randy faces is a restraining order against a woman he probably doesn't want to be around anymore, and a possible lawsuit, where the payout will be minimal, since there is no police report.

Likely scenario we'll see in the next few days:
This woman will either speak in court or make a statement. She'll say Randy hurt her, and he promised to give her money if she didn't go to the police or the hospital and get him into any trouble. (This is what the temporary restraining order says) Either Randy Moss reneged on the deal or she decided she wanted more money and Randy refused, so she leaked the information to the radio station.

You can't say your going too go public before an important event unless he pays, that's bordering on blackmail ;-)

There's no border, that is blackmail.

If the complainant has lawyers advising her in this then they should be sanctioned.

Most state bar associations have provisions against blackmailing people.

Your going off topic, from what I see it's because you've got nothing.

There was no handling of this woman, no one here is avocating beating up women. Your trying to make something out of nothing, JMTC

Must be fun looking forward to the draft !!

first of all, in many states it is relatively easy (for good reasons) for a woman to be able to get a restraining order against a family member or significant other. in virtually every case, the judge will side with the woman, even if the judge has a high degree of certainty that the request is bogus or unwarranted. why? "just in case." under those circumstances, the order is usually lifted in a week or so.

second, given his statments today, someone should advise randy moss to shut the heck up before he does himself any more damage. i'm giving him the benefit of the doubt, but he didn't help himself this morning.

third, given moss' statements, it's pretty clear that this woman didn't just fabricate a relationship with him and make up a charge out of the blue. he knows her and was close enough to her, given his statements, for him to have to say, effectively, that nothing bad happened. this was very bad judgment on his part. if the woman did try to shake him down, what was he doing risking everything by hanging out with someone like that????

fourth, he and we all need this like a hole in the effing head.

fifth, just waiting for the i told you so's to start from all of the mediots who have been eating crow for the past few months given what they said about moss early in the season.

Considering Randy's past reputation, is anyone really suprised that some dirt hasnt come out sooner than this
We don't know what really happened, probably never will. It will be pushed under the carpet soon, we (Randy) just has to stop talking about it and play, not get distracted...
We had Coach's back
Rodney's back
Vince's back
The "OLD" Defences back
We will all stand behind Randy, now
He is a PAT, now..... one of the family, we will all stand together as a TEAM!
The Vikings talked so much trash about Randy while he was there, (some deserved some not) I don't want him to ever feel like New England Fans are not rooting for him while he is here

I disagree. He did very well, and I'm not a Randy Moss but-kisser.

conspiracy ..... she's got a Chargers friend and her Lawyers were all born
in San Diego. :D

anything to cause a distraction ..

Here we go again.

Typical this year isn't it?

Randy Moss accused of pushing off and, if he didn't pay up, he'd be called for alleged offensive pass interference with a 500 foot restraining penalty !?!?

good points. though, she can file a police report at any time, arguing that she was intimidated into not doing so. you also make a very good point that no one knows what transpired between the two of them. was it blackmail or did randy offer to give her a few bucks to keep quiet about an inflated non-instance and then change his mind on advice of counsel?

Yup, wish he said he had no idea who this woman was. (not that I wish he had lied, but that the fact he said this was some friend makes it look more suspicious, to me at least.)

Oh well, I guess it's wait and see time. So there definitely have been no criminal charges filed, correct?

I agree, he pulled a Belichick. Here's my statement have a nice day ! We're playing the Chargers next week, got any questions about the Chargers ?

He should just download an audio of Belichick, " We're moving on, we're playing the Chargers and they're a good football team, we're moving on "

you missed my point. he did well enough to convince me into giving him the benefit of the doubt, but i don't count since i'm a pats and moss fan (i argued out here to to try to get him for 2006!), but it's just fuel for the fire for those who will prejudge the case.

Yeah I gotta disagree as well. He did the right thing. If there is nothing to the allegations, address them head on, talk as freely as you want. You have nothing to hide.

It might not have been eloquent or well-crafted, but then the truth often isn't. It's lies that are meticulously crafted and revised.

If you want to talk about this, start a topic. Stop trying to hijack this thread.
