I went back and took a look at the game book from the Patriots/Raiders match-up back on November 17th, 2002, and inputted the stats from the game into the stats database.
Obviously this game holds no relevance to Sunday's match-up, but for the historical people out there, you can break it down by quarter, down, etc. via this link
Unfortunately back then they didn't log receiver catch area, etc. so direction isn't available in the passing game. ย They didn't track targets back then, but I included them in this chart because that information was available, it just wasn't tracked.
However, in the rushing stats they kept of which direction the runningback ran to, so you can take a look at the rushing stats from that game, which show which side they favored that night, and you'll find the balance direction-wise was pretty solid in that game as well.
Needless to say feel free to check it out.
