Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com reported on Wednesday that rookie tight end Aaron Hernandez was among those missing from practice on Wednesday.
No notable hit that may have caused an injury comes to mind from Sunday's win over Minnesota for Hernandez - so we'll have to wait and hear more as to the reason when the report comes out this afternoon. We'll update the post at that time.
As for the others who weren't spotted were runningback Fred Taylor and safety Jarrad Page. Taylor's been recovering from a toe injury, and it seems the coaching staff seems content on making sure he's fully healed and not forcing him back to action. They haven't needed to because BenJarvus Green-Ellis has done a solid job filling in during his absence. Jarrad Page missed last week's game, but was seen on Twitter cheering on his teammates while he was obviously home watching the game.
Two practice squad players were also missing, with linebacker Tyrone McKenzie & receiver Darnell Jenkins not spotted at the media portion of practice. The team has released one, with Shalise Manza Young reporting that it may have been McKenzie as the casualty. He's been unable to break into the line-up thanks to the play of rookie Brandon Spikes.
We'll have more in a bit.
