The New England Patriots and San Diego Chargers released their injury reports Friday afternoon, as the teams prepare for Sunday's battle in Foxborough. Patriots defensive captain Jerod Mayo was added to the injury report with a thigh injury, but he is probable for the Pats home opener.
Four players have been ruled out for the Patriots and Chargers on Sunday. For New England, defensive lineman Mike Wright and center Dan Koppen. On the flip side for San Diego, defensive end Luis Castillo and linebacker Jonas Mouton are out.
Here is the Patriots the full injury report:
Out-
C Dan Koppen (Ankle)
DL Mike Wright (concussion)
Questionable-
LB Gary Guyton (hamstring)
WR Taylor Price (hamstring)
OL Sebastian Vollmer (back)
OL Ryan Wendell (calf)
Probable -
LB Jerod Mayo (Thigh)
S Josh Barrett (thumb)
CB Leigh Bodden (back)
LB Dane Fletcher (thumb)
TE Dan Gronkowski (hamstring)
Analysis:
Expect Dan Koppen and Mike Wright to be out for sometime. In fact, I am worried Mike Wright's career could be in jeopardy. Luis Castillo is a huge loss for the Chargers. He is a solid defensive end and can make a huge impact for San Diego's defense. I hope Jerod Mayo is close to full health come game time and that his thigh injury will not linger into the season.
I will post my prediction and pre-game thoughts tomorrow afternoon.
