Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots shocked the football world Sunday night when the team agreed on a one-year incentive-laden deal with free agent quarterback Cam Newton.

A former NFL MVP in 2015, Newton will join in a quarterback competition alongside second-year player Jarrett Stidham for the starting job left open by Tom Brady in 2020.

Following the announcement, a variety of reaction to the news transpired across social media across the sports community.
