Will AFC East sell or buy at trade deadline? - AFC East - ESPN

I see the Pats not buying but certainly doing a little shoppoing for a WR to garnish the #3 or #4 spot - Roscoe Parrish is rumored to want out badly,I could see the Bills doing something with him.

Terrell Owens rumors of him being shopped around seems to be ridiculous especially considering the well publicized signing and all the market value T.O. has with his new fans in Buffalo (All 3 of them :D)

BTW: I think the trade deadline in mid October is retarded - There should be trading allowed till at least week 10 when injuries continue to mount on some teams that may need help to try and make the playoffs

I agree. I like baseball's system although I'd like to see the 7/31 deadline moved to 8/31 as you have a bunch of teams still in contention. Maybe make the NFL's TD 11/30 and players must clear waivers if acquired after that date.

I dare not even think about cap/CBA ramifications.

The Jets already made the key trade getting Braylon Edwards.

It shored up their only weakness.

I am just throwing this out there...please dont attack me or think I am crazy its just a thought...

If the Bills put TO on the market and demanded something small in return, would the Pats make a run at him? We do need another WR...

Absolutely not. There is no way Bill would want that cancer on the team.

I would think the Bears would be the leading contender in a T.O. sweepstakes with the Rams not far off - I don't think BB would take a loser like T.O.,Especially in the middle of the season.

T.O.'s career could be over..at least as a #1 or even #2 receiver..he stinks anymore

In all fairness..TO has been very quite in Buffalo. He would do well here and we would have the best WR group in the NFL.

I doubt we see a single trade at the deadline. This is NFL, I don't know why this type of idea that there's going to be a flurry of activity crops up every year.

No way can Randy Moss and T.O. play together on this team...they would clash like an Orange shirt with Yellow pants.

I don't think the Pats will make a move but I agree w/Lombardi's assesment from the other day: Tavern talk: A win for Vikki Zimmer | National Football Post

Steven Jackson would certainly look good in a Pats uniform and fit this offense perfectly but with 5 yrs remaining on a 6-yr $44.805 mil deal he signed in August 2008 I don't think it's likely at all. It would be nice though.

Florio touched on this very topic in his 10-pack of trades that should happen today:

He hasn't been silent. Should I remind you of what happened when he didn't get any catches against the Saints? I'm sure there's also more behind the scenes that isn't being discussed by the players in Buffalo as well. No thanks. A lot of talent, but the juice is not worth the squeeze.

I see this scenario has taken off in another thread -- makes too much sense will never happen.

Why not? He had kept his mouth shut all year. After Welker and Moss, who do we have that is better? Look at the TD's he had for Romo. He made Romo look good. Now Romo looks pretty average.
I could cover Galloway one on one and if he beats me it will be the wrong pattern or he'll drop it.
T.O. would counter the Edwards move. Braylon looked good to me. Tannenbaum stole one.

Maroney and one of our 2010 seconds for Jackson?
This makes sense. The Rams still need a RB to fill Jacksons slot. Maroney is from St.Louis. Maybe he needs to be near family.
I might even go for our first rounder. BB hates them anyway.

That is a good one but this could be better. If you could swap and sign Boldin, I would go for that deal. A one?
Probably. Who on the 2010 draft board is better? Look at it that way.

Peppers wasn't on that list and I am sure he is still under the BB radar. CAP is more the issue. He's not worth what he is getting paid now at $1m per game! He is worth something though.

Merriman? The Chargers might not swap with BB. I would take him as he still has some shelf life. Brace could be considered with a pick because the Chargers are in need of an NT.

The problem is that these NFL front office personnel are not aggressive. It is EGO that says "these are my guys and I don't want to look like I picked the wrong ones and we go with them because it gives us the best opportunity to win". Wouldn't that really be the addition of a Jackson or a Boldin, guys? I call B.S. on that! Tannenbaum took a shot on one more phone call and he suckered Mangini. Got to give the Jets props.

Biggest error in judgment that the Pats made over the winter? Not signing Tony Gonzales to help a recuperating TB out of some early season rough spots. Where has Baker been and why can't we throw to him on third and four? Watson is still inconsistent and fades during the game. I will bet the stats say Welker is the targeted receiver on third and four in 75% of all those situations. ....Think the opposition knows what's coming?

A little shake is what the Pats need. Even T.O. Seau I love but he won't make that much difference. They need something to hang their hat on.

Both are head cases that are cancers in the locker room. The talent is there but, like I said, the juice isn't worth the squeeze.

    - I don't think the Pats are going to make a trade because they already blew a 3rd rounder for Burgess which is looking terrible.

    - I wouldn't deal for Peppers because Carolina won't be able to franchise him next season or else they will have to pay him 20 million dollars for one season.

    - While it would be great to have a stud back in this offense, what's the point? The Pats are a passing team and will find a way to keep the ball out of the RB's hands. A better trade would be for a receiver.

    #24 Jersey

Why would an 0-5 rebuliding team trade for T.O?
