Morning practice and Belichick
Posted by John Tomase at 1:28 pm
A few observations from this morning’s practice session, the first of the day . . .
TWO SIDES OF CHAD: It was an up and down morning for wide receiver Chad Jackson. Jackson had a tough morning from a hands perspective, dropping multiple passes and a punt. He also had another punt stripped. However, he showcased his jaw-dropping athleticism on one deep ball, which appeared destined to fall harmlessly to the turf before Jackson accelerated out of nowhere to make a sliding attempt that unfortunately bounced off of his hands. At one point, he received some one-on-one instruction from head coach Bill Belichick.
PICK FOR WILHITE: Rookie corner Jonathan Wilhite showed a nice burst on a Matt Cassel out in one drill, jumping the route to pick it cleanly before taking off down the sideline.
TEMPO, PACE: The morning practice featured a lot of contact, but not a particularly speedy tempo. The running game seemed to be a particular focus.
