How funny is that? I was pissed last night, I couldn't sleep, I was miserable this morning, and now I feel pretty good and even optimistic for next season.

    God bless the Internet. :D

Same here. Though I am still trying not to hang around too much. Rather not think about the second guessing and all of that, it would drive me mad!

The Pats need home field and the bye week for next year. Think back on 2003 and 2004. They were 14-2 both seasons.

They need to get healthy and start reloading.

I agree. My girlfriend thinks I'm nuts because I'm taking the loss so hard (she thought the same thing last year too). This board is a good place to get the focus on the good things we accomplished and the potential in the future.

It's tough because they were so close.

This offseason will be interesting with the draft and free agency, retaining their own players and bringing in new ones.

Plus if we'll see a solid 2nd year jump from Maroney, Thomas, Jackson, and Mills.

And we'll get Wilson, Gay, and hopefully a solid Rodney two years removed from surgery.

I think we're all feeling the same way, and I agree about this site. It really does help us vent our frustrations when others either won't listen, or just don't get it. Now this is just my opinion so don't freak out on me, but I think with pro football the way it is now being so competitive, we're waiting for the sky to fall on our team. With the Patriots being so damn good for this long, I think we fear the odds are going to catch up with us, and with every loss or setback we're wondering, "Is this the beginning of the end?" I think that's why we take it so hard. Thanks for letting me ramble.

I hear you. My GF doesn't get sports. When the Pats lose, I just don't want to be around people that don't take sports as seriously as I do.

Take my boss for example, he could care less about sports. I walk in today, and he's like "tough loss." I appreciate his attempt to reach out to me, but damn, hearing somebody who doesn't love sports try and talk about a tough loss makes me want to puke.

When my team loses, I only want to be surrounded by people as crazy as me.

im glad im not the only one walking around like a zombie today .i just cant believe there are no more games to look forward to .its going to be like trying to kick a bad drug habbit for the next several weeks .i just hope we can sign asante or graham .at least one anyway .but i fear we will lose both to the freakin jets .its bad enough to lose players but when they go to a team in the division or the confrence its like getting punched in the gut every time we play the team they are on.watching adam celebrate in a colts uniform makes me sick to my stomach .

This isn't the prayer thread but I must say AMEN brother NEM! :)

Next year may be a last chance for some of the older vets (Bruschi, Troy, Rodney, Seau, Dillon, Testaverde who I hope we bring back)... but there are a lot of youngsters on this team and more will be brought in via the draft, where BB and SP always shine.

The Patriots will be back next season, back in the playoffs, and hopefully back in the Super Bowl.

I found this board today because I needed to find a place to commiserate with fellow Pats fans. I live in Tampa now so there are no fellow Bostonians around and my wife sure as hell doesn't understand.

I have to say, it was very therapeutic, I do feel better.

I couldn't turn on Mike & Mike this morning, especially since Dick Vitale is on Mondays and if I heard his voice I would have had to put a bullet in the radio.

Instead I listened to WEEI on the internet. The Big Show made me feel better as well. Nothing like the Boston style negative sarcastic misery of the Whiner Line to get you feeling like you are not alone.

I moved out of Boston about 30 hours after Aaron Boone hit that damn homerun off of Tim Wakefield. What a depressing way to drive out of town. I remember thinking that day, to hell with this cursed city.

Of course I missed 2 more Pats SB wins and the Red Sox World Series Win. At least I got to party in Kenmore Square after the Pats beat the Rams.

I can't stand Salisbury either, he's an ass. I'm still waiting for one of the cohosts to someday mention the fact that he sucked.

Yeah, I can't listen to any sports radio or watch those shows right now. Just don't feel like thinking of all the possible ways we could've won this game, etc...

A day later the loss still lingers....

The only two places that made me feel better was here and patriotsplanet. I did not, and still do not, want to listen to any of the national commentary.

Listening to the Belichick interview also made me feel a little better.
