Doug Martin's 5th year option was declined by the Bucs, making him a free agent next season. As a low-risk one-year rental and potential Vereen replacement, I'd give them a call to see how interested they are in moving on.
As a rookie, Martin rushed for 1,454 yards and added 49 receptions for 472 yards. The receptions are especially impressive because it's similar to Vereen's best production (52 catches, 447 yards).
He struggled with injuries and the coaching change and never got anywhere close to that rookie season, but he's still only 26 years old, has little wear from the past two seasons, and has a base salary of $1.3M.
