http://www.rotoworld.com/Content/home_NFL.aspx Jeremy Shockey and Giants GM Jerry Reese reportedly got into a shouting match at the team's minicamp on Friday.

The exact details of the argument are unclear, but Shockey's agent Drew Rosenhaus was asked if Shockey wants to return to the team and said: "I don’t specifically have a way to address that at this time because Jeremy’s been very adamant about avoiding any public discussion about a situation... We are talking to the team about some of the issues that exist and we hope to get that resolved."

Your star TE gets in a shouting match with the GM, your star WR isnt practicing cause hes unhappy with his contract, the C Sean O' Hara's criticizing both of those players about there attitudes... While the Pats have every single player participating in OTA's, werent we the ones that were supposed to be worried about the "superbowl curse"?....

To be honest, the Giants don't need Shockey and I'd go as far to say as they're better off without him.

Losing Strahan is without a doubt the biggest problem right now, huge loss, regardless of the depth.

I have a feeling Plax will eventually work things out. Doesn't seem to be too serious as of yet, we'll see what happens once training camp starts up.

Funny that Shockey, Plax, and Chad Johnson are all clients of Drew Rosenhaus.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if the NYG don't make the playoffs next year.

Shockey isn't a big loss for them, Boss filled in adequately. Strahan retiring will hurt them.

Rosenhaus has established himself as the NFL's equivalent of Scott Boras. Interestingly, Theo has dealt with the devil (Dice-K, Tek, Drew). What about Pioli and Rosenhaus. What Patriots are signed with this douche?

On the Pats, it's Fernando Bryant, Jabar Gaffney, Chris Hanson, Larry Izzo

Here's a link to all his clients. Looks to me that Rosenhaus represents about 7% of all NFL players and about 70% of those that are demanding their contract be renegotiated.

Rosenhaus is no different from any other scum agent in professional sports. The only difference being that he was one of the VERY few who ended up making a name for himself in the public eye.

IOW-whatever agent represented TO in '05 would have handled the situation the exact same way-for the reason being Owens wanted the ball in HIS court.

Plaxico wore out his welcome on the Steelers and I respect the Chin, who drafted him, but wouldn't put up with him...

Now he is unhappy on another Super bowl club. Trade the SOB to Miami or Detroit...

Rosenhaus was Stallworth's agent too. Supposedly Belioli have a very good relationship with him. I expect that is because smart respects smart (and we've never gone after one of his particularly troubled clients...).

As for the Giants, made a HUGE mistake not trading Shockey before the draft. Might have helped them bridge the Strahan gap, too (no pun intended). They remain afraid Boss is not talented enough to pass the sophomore season smell test. But Shockey is just a cancer, in the locker room and on the field where he browbeats Eli into making stupid mistakes. Plax has been Eli's binky, and that can be a blessing and a curse. I'd imagine with a ring his will to play hurt is wavering - ergo the contract demands. And Eli needs some steady talent around him or he's never going to be more than what he currently is, a crap shoot.

Damn, now I'm thinking about how we lost #4 to a crap shoot again...:violent:

Add one more, apparently Ahmad Bradshaw is in jail, according to Profootballtalk.com.

We probably won't see these guys for another 4 years.

Though I'd love a rematch. Love, love, love.

Infact, I'm rooting for the Giants to make it back this year. And hell it's possible.

-The new-era Cowboys have still not proven they can get out of the first round of the playoffs.
-The Green Bay Packers just lost their 2007 MVP Candidate quarterback.

And besides those two teams, there is no team anyone can call a clear cut elite team in the NFC right now.

The real reason, even worse than all the contract gripes and incarcerations, why the Giants will not win more than 8 games this season is the retirement of Strahan.

Tuck has to move to out to DE, which he should be able to do well enough, but he won't be as good as Strahan. They have a lot of depth, but it will take even more for them to replace the versatility and play of Strahan. They will not lead the league in sacks and will not have as good of a rush. That's going to make it even more difficult for an average secondary.

I still don't have faith that they can ride Eli's arm, either. We'll see but for now I expect no more than 8-8.

This thread just made me realize something. For the first time in a long time we have no one on our team DISPUTING THEIR CONTRACT, NO ONE THREATENING TO HOLD OUT, AND NO DEFECTIONS FROM OUR COACHING STAFF. HOW REFRESHING! :singing:

Now if we can get all of the rookies signed without delay it will be even better. :D

As for the Giants, OH WELL! :p
