Stupid Nike Uniforms Wreaking Havoc On Colorblind NFL Fans

Putting that factor aside, hope there's a solution to it, I thought this color rush thing would be awful but, I love the four uniforms they've released so far. Especially surprised by the Jags uniform, the preview looked terrible but I like them a lot. NFL should allow teams to wear more than one alt a season.

In looking at those uniforms last night, the thought occurred to me that if both teams' jerseys were combined with white pants, they would have looked OK to me. I have always disliked any uniforms which have the same color jerseys and pants. There was a problem, I thought, with both teams wearing brightly-colored jerseys.

Apparently every team that plays in Thursday in 2016 will be doing this. Man I'm gonna be pissed if Kraft doesn't do all red and does this instead

What an idiotic blunder. Sports uniforms aren't only fashion, they're also information visualization -- they have to inform you about which team and which player is which (e.g. numbers on the back). And part of designing information for a mass audience is considering the colorblind.

On the plus side, this gives me something to talk to my colorblind Buffalo-native brother in law about at Thanksgiving!

About 8% of men are diagnosed with significant colorblindness. The vast majority of those are red/green colorblind. If the NFL truly valued the "integrity of the game", they never would have played a game with all red vs. all green uniforms.

Bills fan, eh? Hope he's tone deaf too with that blustery windbag of a head coach.

What are the odds that the NFL had all of the refs involved in this game go through a color blindness test? Might explain the first down that was upheld last night.

"So, bright red for the Bills, bright green for the Jets, and don't forget to switch from wool to cotton! What could go wrong?" o_O

Standing still it was cool.

But did you try to WATCH the game???

Hard to pick up the movement of the limbs.

Maybe that's why I seriously had a problem watching that game last night (other than my usual problems!).

Yep, the green limbs with white stripes against a green field with white stripes was nasty.

Add this factor...especially for Jets fans:

How Alcohol Affects Your Eyes

"Alcohol can also damage your ability to see contrast in colors. It will be difficult to distinguish between different shades of similar colors if your eyes have been damaged by alcohol. Another problem associated with too much alcohol is optic neuropathy."
