Observations from 2nd practice

FOXBOROUGH – Five observations from the Patriots’ second practice on the opening day of training camp, which was held inside the Dana-Farber Field House:

1) Back-to-back full-pads sessions. Training camp is both a physical and mental grind and Bill Belichick had the team in full pads in both practices today, putting his club to the test right off the bat. The offensive linemen seemed to engage in more contact in this session, with a one-on-one blocking drill. In that drill, a cone was placed behind the linemen as if it was the quarterback. All five linemen would react at the snap, but only one was actually blocking a defender. The drill seemed to highlight the fact that coaches were trying to get the line its first taste of banging up front.

I am impressed with Bryant keeping up with Moss...good for him...

Webster and Bryant may not be all-pros but they are decent

cornerbacks. They are not washed up and over the hill types

like some of the veterans brought to camp in recent years.

Chad Jackson.. cough... cough

Chad Jackson.. cough... cough

Hard to tell if the interactions were constructive or CJack was getting his arse handed to him. We'll know more in the preseason games. If CJack is running with the 1's, everything is cool. If he is catching passes from O'Connell, not so much.
