I finally picked up my latest SI. At the top of the cover, it says, "Why I'm Picking the Packers. p.40," so I opened to p. 40. Thumbing through, I came to Peter King's Final Eight Forecast...

    Broncos over Ravens
    Packers over 49ers
    Seahawks over Falcons
    Patriots over Texans

    Packers over Seahawks
    Broncos over Patriots

    Packers 33 over Broncos 30

This made me smile and I hope it makes you smile too.

I don't know if you can knock predictions, as virtually everyone is wrong. That said, Peter King is truly the biggest hack writer I've ever seen. He simply piles on every story, jumps on bandwagons, and adds stupid, uninteresting tidbits to every piece. I would much rather read a writer with some insight into the league than someone's opinion that is just based on the majority of other pundits.

I know -- especially this weekend. It was a great weekend for dogs. Like you, I don't care for PK and it was fun to peruse a pile of pontifications that began...
then proceeds to misanalyse every game except one. (BTW, I only predicted one winner -- the same one PK picked.)

I can't wait for the mea culpa.

I don't think King is a good analyst at all.

That being said, his column is a must-read. He's a reporter, and he has good sources. That's what I expect from reporters. I don't need them to give me insight into the actual game.

LOL. Wasn't it just a few weeks ago that Petah had the Pats mowing down every other team in his MMQB column? What a tool.

Peter's gut instincts used to be bad enough. He is highly impressionable (as are most of the young gun mediots he fawns over and finds national gigs for) and most impressed by those who cooperate with his need for insider access. Lately his relationship with PFF's founder (he often refers to what we think, I believe they bonded when he went on his vacation sabatical to England last season) has just exacerbated that. Peter is all about stats and storylines, as are most mediots. It's hard for them to warm to NE because aside from like GOAT musings and projecting seasonal improvement there are few to be had here.

Don Banks gets it, and had a good piece up on the website last night. It's just not what people want to hear.

When I saw King's picks for the SB, I said to myself, Oh, good, we dont have to worry about those two teams.

He is like Dr. Z was...just a pathetic prognosticator given that their job is to follow the NFL 24/7/365.

PK became too much of a "superstar" writer.

a few years ago he wasn't to horrible, but now every ******* article needs to include **** about his deals, or how is agent is also the agent for some player, and how that has no influence on how that player is, in his humble opinion the best player of all time.

Also he *****es about people who ride the quiet car on the train, and then he complains about getting yelled at for being loud on the quiet train.

Hes a hypocritical skunk headed mouth breather.

Highly impressionable (like any good first grader) is a good description of Petah. I do find his MMQB columns entertaining, though.

To be fair, he has good sources which is his real claim to fame. His own prognistications and football knowledge are nothing special.
