I have a Pro Bowl technicality question.
Voted as the starters for the Pro Bowl this past season were.....
Peyton Manning
Tom Brady
Carson Palmer
Brady and Palmer did not participate in the Pro Bowl due to injury.
Do they still get credit for a Pro Bowl? Is Tom Brady now a 3-time Pro Bowler (he had two before right?)?
So I guess the big question is........
Does one have to be ASKED to join the Pro Bowl team to get credit for being a Pro Bowler, or does one have to PARTICIPATE in the Pro Bowl to get credit?
If one must participate in the Pro Bowl, then it will be weird looking back and seeing Steve McNair as a Pro Bowl QB in 2005 and not Brady, Palmer, Plummer, etc.
And if one just has to be asked to go to the Pro Bowl to join, well, then it is funny how the AFC has 8 Pro Bowl QBs.........
1. Peyton Manning
2. Tom Brady (injured)
3. Carson Palmer (injured)
4. Drew Brees (would have replaced Palmer, but he got injured himself)
5. Jake Plummer (Palmer/Brees replacement, but then withdrew)
6. Trent Green (Plamer/Brees/Plummer replacement)
7. Ben Roethlisberger (Brady replacement, but rumored to turn down PB for Grammy's)
8. Steve McNair (Brady/Roethlisberger replacement)
....with 16 teams in the AFC, we weren't too far from having David Carr in the Pro Bowl
