Just saw on PFT that Georgia WR Mohamed Massaqoi's (butchered I'm sure) stock is rising, and he's now potentially a second-rounder.

Piece then mentioned he'd had a workout with the NEP. First I'd heard of that. Can anyone else confirm?

I thought MM was a beast at Georgia, having some really big games vs. SEC defenses; however, he could just as easily be one of those big-body WRs who dominate in college because of their size but flop in the NFL because they can't get off the line (David Terrell, Mike Williams, etc.).

Given the Pats recent history with second round WRs, I'd probably prefer that they pass, but what do I (or any of us :)) know?

Yes, we have him on the list:

Not only did he have a private workout, but the Pats sent their OC and WR's coach to Georgia's Pro Day.

His history of dropped passes does not attract me in any round -- let alone round two. I prefer the reliable hands and solid route runners as safer picks -- but what do I know...

I'm with you. Seems like common sense, but I'd love to see a list of WRs whose chief pre-draft demerits were "Needs to work on hands" and "Needs to work on route-running" and actually ended up to be good NFL WRs.

Pass.

I'm not a big Louis Murphy fan, and I'd take him ahead of Massaquoi.

wouldn't mind picking this guy up with our 3rd or 4th pick.

It depends on the reason for the drops. If there's a hand-eye coordination issue or a scared to catch with a safety about to hit you issue then, sure, pass. But if it's a concentration, try to run before you look it in type of issue then that can be coached.

The kid is talented-but inconsistent. I don't think he would make the roster .
I don't like him in round 2. Maybe round 5-6-then he gets a shot at practice team. Just not sold on him.

The guy disappears too much. He's got great physical attributes to be a really productive receiver, but he's not a top notch competitor. I don't want a Bethel V.2. I'd rather get someone who is not as gifted physically, but is a top notch competitor.
