For those of us who are interested in these types of things...

Steve Beuharnais is now wearing 58 (much better than 45)

Was hoping Dobson would ditch 17. I think Sudfeld has to change to an 80s number but the league doesn't seem to care about tight ends with numbers in the 40s anymore.

Amendola can actually be #16 now, since Aiken is gone. Dobson can take #83. I doubt they'll change their numbers, though.

Actually, Amendola is wearing 80 so 83 is wide open.

Tight ends have always been able to wear 40something jerseys. Dallas Clark would probably be the most famous example (he wears 44). Even in Patriots history, we've had Lovett Purnell in 48, I do believe.

Also Vellano is now 72 (his college number). Pretty tight if you ask me. That's also a sign that he'll be on the roster for a while.

I know Danny's #80. I just didn't include the part where the other guy who was #83 (forgot who he was) is gone, too, like Aiken.

I thought that Aaron was seeking #83 when he was issued #17 ???

Would love to see Dobson trade 17 for 83.

I don't understand that because he was there before Hawkins (the original offseason owner of 83), but he did say he wanted it but was told it was taken.

Either way, it might unfortunately be too late for him to take 83. Apparently his 17 jersey is available in a lot of stores.

Numbers for some of the new players from Patriots.com:

    Chris White 59

Chris Barker 62 (must be a misprint since Wendell is 62)

    Braxston Cave 68

    A.J. Francis 90

    The "tightness" is overwhelming ;)
