I just really wish the team would give Colt Lyerla a shot during training camp, or at least the practice squad.
If the NFL want's to unfairly take away future 1st round pick's, then we should return to taking small risk's on players with high upside. Colt is a perfect example! He's a natural footballer and play maker. All that to go along with rare, and gifted athletic ability. He can be considered a freak, much like Gronk.
It appears he's really trying to get it all together and put his mistakes in the past. We use to have good success with players like these. I say we put the whole AH thing behind us and return to form. Its not like we can be slapped around by the media anymore then we have been over the past 8 months.
He's a perfect fit in our offense! His versatility, combined with his physicality would create MAJOR mis match nightmares for opposing defensive coordinators. He can play HB, Play as a inline blocker, or split out into the slot. He's the kind of player that catches the ball 5 yards and picks up another 5-10 minimum. Its perfect for what we do.
