OT: Official 2020 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Who knows. I've been wrong so many times about players coming and going I don't even bother speculating.

With that said White is from Florida and with his dad passing away he might want to be closer to his mom.
If he leaves he'll leave a huge hole to fill.

The 1st TD to Gronk has been run by White and AH

The TD to AB was a classic Squirrel/Welker/DA route
I actually just heard on the Pat McAffee show Clyde Christensen (TB QB coach) that AB ran the route the wrong way  Outside in instead of inside out

Bucs will choose Barrett over Godwin imo

They'll keep AB, and bring on Edelman and White

Evans
Brown
Edelman
Miller
Johnson
Gronk
Brate
Howard
White

I'm hoping they move on from both Godwin and Barrett unless they can get a really cap friendly deal.

No offense to either player but it has more to do with their positions being the most overvalued in the market. Godwin is a really good receiver, and I wonder if Brady would try to veto the move...but Godwin isn't worth $16M+. Love Barrett but there's no bigger money pit than a $20M pass rusher...I mean, last night's game (and the Green Bay game) was a perfect example of how pressure and sacks are more of a team effort and the dominant defensive tackles are where you should spend.

I really hope they bring back Suh; I almost would say I'd take him outright over Barrett, but I'd definitely rather have him for half the price.

They must re-sign David, and I'm guessing they will.

If Howard comes back healthy, there's almost not enough ball to go around. Adam Humphries, the dude that dissed Brady two years ago and signed with Tennessee, could probably be signed for dirt cheap. Amendola might also be a decent addition for one more year as a situational guy. All in all, there's likely to be some bargains available for wide receivers expected to be a third option in the offense and excel at slot/inside routes.

at what point can we move this thread off the main page into an OT forum, where it belongs?

It should stay here until we play them next season. It will be a sunday night game. Book it.

Tom Brady's Hall of Fame plaque will forever read "Buccaneers and Patriots"

That will never not be gross.
Just hope that Kraft will sign Brady to a one day contract to allow Brady to retire as a Patriots when the time comes

Mike Evans is such an unselfish guy. I'd love to see how many pass interference penalties he drew this year; in the Super Bowl alone, I believe he got about 50 yards on them that don't show up in the stat sheet. I don't think people realize how valuable this guy has been forcing teams to put their best corner on him or double him. Opposite of many wide receiver divas.

A few posts before there is a link to a BA interview saying that Evans told him the Bucs that he will give up some of his money to keep the team together. They will probably extend Brady to create so additional cap space next year.

But with Evans happy to give up some money it will rub on other guys. Now I wouldn’t be shocked if Godwin resign for under 15M. Gronk and AB are Brady guys, they will play for peanuts.

It wouldn't totally shock me if he declined that like Peyton did the Colts. I could be dead wrong though.

Yep. I said the same thing about Shane Vereen.

Just gotta hope BB brings in the right players.

Also, I pretty much guarantee Brady gets an extension this offseason which will free up more cap space for 2021. It makes sense for both sides.

Godwin is gone. Edelman will replace him. TB will become NE Patriots south with him, Gronk, Brady, and White.

not at all......boring game, but it was fun at times

it was a nice story.......but i really couldn't care less about 31 other teams right now....i'm sure there's a nice tampa forum somewhere for you Bucs fans

and the 2000 ravens run was a thing of beauty, especially to those who didn't learn the game from Madden
Nobody is looking at your avatar and taking your opinion about football seriously. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a quality post out of you from an X’s and O’s standpoint. You’re pretty much completely worthless here. A commenter whose posts probably get scrolled past by most people here. Perhaps that’s why you’re trolling... badly? To try to get attention. But there’s always a chance to redeem yourself. Maybe you can break down the 2000 Ravens and how they defended their opponents (coverages, gap assignments, blitz packages, etc) for us to tell us why it was a better run? I won’t hold my breath, though. I enjoy being alive.

I completely disagree. I think now it’s almost a lock that Godwin will be back. At worst they will tag him at 16M. Godwin said he wants to come back. BA and Lycht said they want him back long term.

They don’t need Edelman to replace Godwin. They already have Tyler Johnson and Brady had a clear rapport with him in limited reps. Edelman’s close to done, IMO. The injuries have, unfortunately, taken their toll from the looks of it.
