http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/ January 02, 2006 Practice squad moves Posted By: mreiss | Time: 05:55:44 PM The Patriots added two players to their practice squad today -- offensive tackle Brennan Curtin (Notre Dame) and cornerback Antwain Spann (Louisana-Lafayette). That gives the team a full complement of eight practice squad players -- Curtin, Spann, linebacker Eric Alexander, defensive lineman Santonio Thomas, receiver P.K. Sam, safety Ray Ventrone and offensive linemen Wesley Britt and Ryan Krug. The 25-year-old Curtin, who is 6-foot-9 and 335 pounds, was a sixth-round draft choice of the Packers in 2003. He spent the 2003 and 2004 seasons with the Packers but didn't play in a game his rookie season and missed the '04 season after being placed on injured reserve in the preseason. He was released by Green Bay on Aug. 17, 2005. Spann, 22, was originally signed by the Giants as a rookie free agent on May 17, 2005. He was released Aug. 30 after going through training camp. Spann is 6-feet and 185 pounds. The moves likely mean that receiver Bam Childress, who was signed from the practice squad to the active roster for the Jan. 1 finale against the Dolphins, will remain on the team's 53-man roster.
