NFL Week 2 Predictions and Picks Against the Spread

NFL Week 2 Predictions and Picks Against the Spread

Although Week Two is a CBS/AFC double header, most out of town Pats Fans will still be shut out of this week’s game on broadcast television. Outside of New England the game will only be televised in Florida (thanks to the fact that the Dolphins are not going head-to-head with either the Bucs or Jaguars) and the state of New York (due to AFC East interest).

Bengals at Steelers will get most of the CBS coverage in the early east game, with KC at Houston being shown through much of the midwest. Indy at Denver gets the broad coverage late on CBS, while FOX has a mixed bag of regional coverage. The Boston area will receive the Seahawks at Rams late, while many others will get (shocking!) another NFC East game on FOX: Dallas at Washington.

Josh McCown picks up where he left off last season vs. Ravens. Guides 75-yard TD drive, converts all three third downs for 67 yards.

Isiah Crowell with an 85 yard run, already with more than 100 yards rushing.

Browns 14
Ravens 0

6:47 to go in 1st quarter.

Pittsburgh goes for it on 4th down and is intercepted.

Roethlisberger expected Antonio Brown to continue rather than sit in open spot.

Steelers 0, Bengals 0 w/under 4 min to go in 1st quarter.

Houston WR Andre Hopkins abused KC CB Marcus Peters last year. Hopkins beats Peters again for a 27-yard TD.

KC with only 6 yards rushing on 5 carries.

Texans 7, Chiefs 0 late in 1st quarter.

Cowboys 10, Redskins 0, end of first quarter.

Prescott 8/11 for 138 yards.

Dallas scored on a 94-yard drive.

Dallas : 20 plays from scrimmage
Wash: 8 plays from scrimmage

Lions 9, Titans 0 - end of first quarter.

Stafford to Boldin for a TD, and a safety with DeMarco Murray tackled in end zone.

Nine penalties (!) between the two teams already.

Carolina 7, SF 3 - end of first quarter.

Who was the schedule maker that had the Niners play late Sunday night, and then have to go to the east coast for an early game?

Gabbert 3/6 with two misses to wide open targets.

Blocked extra point goes for 2 points for defense.

Browns 20, Ravens 2

Second largest 1st quarter deficit in Ravens' history.

Curse of deflategate continues its retribution tour.

McCown left for locker room with shoulder injury, however.

Saints-Giants still scoreless with 10:53 to go in 2nd quarter.

Last year these two met and combined for 101 points (NO 52, NYG 49).

alright Brees, I like you but you need to throw a pick. can't have you breaking brady's streak of 358

Cowboys 13, Redskins 10 at half time

Dallas control time of possession, have 34 plays from scrimmage to Washington's 26, gain 231 yards and average 6.6 yards per play - but only lead by three. Cowboys only 1/3 in red zone.

Washington averaging 5.4 yards per rush but Jay Gruden wants Kirk Cousin to throw the ball: 18 pass attempts, 8 rushes.

Prescott with 182 yards passing in first half.

Texans 13, Chiefs 3 at half

Alex Smith only 8/16 for 53 yards, sacked three times.

KC with three turnovers but Houston can't run the ball (13 carries, 34 yards, 2.6 ypc).

Panthers 17, Niners 10 at half.

Cam Newton with more incomplete passes than completions (9/19, 147 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT).

Carolina with two turnovers and RB Jonathan Stewart out with hamstring.

SF blew coverage and TE Greg Olsen scored on a 78-yard TD.

Niners also fumbled inside their own 10 yard line.

Browns 20, Ravens 19 with 8:22 to go in 3rd quarter.

Flacco with three touchdown passes to Mike Wallace.

Wallace now has more touchdown receptions in about a game and a half than he did all of last year with the Vikings (2).

That first quarter blocked extra point is a crucial 3-point swing in this game; without it the score would be 21-17 Browns.

Lions cannot convert 3rd & goal, settle for field goal.

Lions 15, Titans 3 with 1:40 to go in 3rd.

Update: Tennessee goes 75 yards in 5 plays; Mariotta with 30-yard TD to Delanie Walker.
Lions 15, Titans 10 with 14:54 to play in 4th quarter.

Washington scores on three straight possessions.

Cousins now 18/27, 200 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT

Ezekiel Elliot with 83 yards rushing, TD, 5.2 ypc for Dallas.

Cowboys 20, Skins 20 with 2:06 to go in 3rd.

Steelers 17, Bengals 9 at end of 3rd quarter.

Feast or famine in passing game for both teams.

Roethlisberger 208 yards passing but only 50% completion rate.
Dalton 254 yards passing but only 49% completion rate.

Ben with 2 TD but also 2 picks. Completions of 53 and 46 yards to Sammie Coates.
Dalton with completions of 20+ yards to six different receivers, but only 2/6 on passes to AJ Green.

Giants 13, Saints 10 with 8:04 to go in 4th quarter.

Giants dominating game but Saints are staying close due to three NYG turnovers.
Total Plays: Giants 62, Saints 48
Total Yards: Giants 353, Saints 236

Giants had to settle for a FG after a 1st and goal on the 1.

Eli: 28/35, 312 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT
Brees: 25/38, 213 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT; a net of only 5.6 yards per pass attempt.

Steelers 24, Bengals 9 with 6:48 to play.

Roethlisberger with a short touchdown pass to finish off a 12-play drive that ate up 6:54 off the clock.

Ravens 22, Browns 20 with 5:41 to play.

After a Cleveland drive stalled at the Baltimore 34, Patrick Murray missed a 52-yard field goal. The Ravens took over on their 42 and then Justin Tucker hit a 49-yard field goal to take the lead.

Bengals just got hosed. No idea how that fumble stands. Wow
