Saw this when setting my fantasy lineup. Hope it is incorrect.
Looks like Gresham is going to get the start for my fantasy team again this weekend. As for my real team?
PFT says the same thing
Report: Aaron Hernandez will miss another game | ProFootballTalk
I just swhooped Hernandez off the wire because his previous owner got tired of him. TE is my only real weakness, if he comes back in a few weeks o should be set for the play-off push.
Glad Ive got Gates as well, but at 3-7 it doesn't really matter.
hopefully they're just being extra cautious.
He's out. They just reported it.
Still the 8th best offense in NFL history without him, I just want to see all four of them together.
They shouldn't have rushed him back.
Yeah i didn;t expect him to play. Fantasy team is suffering big time. If he is still out..i think he will be out another 2+ weeks. It's not a sprained ankle anymore IMO. Maybe surgery needed?
With Welker banged up as well..not good
Good ole glassy ankle.
I like the guy, but, he is reminding me of Glass Joe Maroney.
Don't ever do that again.
It's to be expected, if you've followed his career at all. He was banged up quite a big at Florida too. When he's on the field, he's a big difference maker. I will say, though, that if Hernandez were to be the true "Welker replacement", the team should take a look and assess the amount of games Hernandez has missed over his career and factor that into the proceeding contract negotiations with Welker in the offseason.
I hope this isnt so serious that they put him on IR. It sounds like its more than an ankle injury.
Makes a lot of sense. Play him on Sunday, and he only has four days before playing again. Hold him out until Thursday, and then he gets 10 days to heal up before the next game.
And let's be honest. The Pats shouldn't need him to score lots of points against the Colts. Now if both Hernandez and Welker are out, then I'll be a little worried.
OT fantasy wise this guy is the weak link on my team. 6--4 still but cant help but think his being out was the result of 2 or 3 of those losses. Always stop gap waiver wire pickups to try to pick up the slack.
He will come back when he is ready I guess. Would love to see what this offense could do with him. Little scared at the depth this week if Welker sits.
This place is really slipping....
Ok, there we go. Now the thread feels more 'right'.
Should we start calling him Aaron Glassnandez?
He'll be fine. They just brought him back too soon and now they are paying the price. Hopefully they don't repeat the mistake with Welker.
Him or Mankins, it would seem.
Kinda what i was thinking as well..it's a short week for them. But we will see
Wow. Hopefully this will be his last week injured. I can't imagine what their record would be if they were fully healthy.
PS - nobody cares about how this affects your fantasy teams!
Sounds like someone's team isn't making the playoffs this year...
I have Hernandez on one of me teams too, but I also have Vernon on that team. Not like Davis has done much either.... and I sit at 6-4
We could be very well without Herandez, Welker, Mankins, and Connolly, and would the the only offense that could lose 4 starters in the course of 1 week and not have it mentioned as a factor by the media.
Everybody else in the league gets lots of free passes for injuries. Only the Pats don't seem to be allowed to use the injury card by the local and national media.
That being said the interior back ups of McDonald, Thomas, and Cannon have already proven they can be acceptable, but our OL depth this game is going to be for *****. And why is it that we can be the only team in the league that can go into a game without their 2 top receivers and still be expected to throw for 300+ yds and 3 TDs. The good news is that we just might get to see the kind of receivers Edelman, Fells, and Schiancoe are.
Here's a tip. I had Hernandez and MBennett as my 2 TEs and forgot the Giants had a bye (which is probably why I'm 5-5) So I went out this afternoon and picked up Dwayne Allen off the waiver wire this afternoon. The Colts lost their top rookie TE for this game, so this kid should get a lot of looks at least. Just a tip for a Friday afternoon
IMO it's at least partially because the Pats refuse to play the injury card. I prefer it that way.
I'm not sure that that is good news
OF COURSE! you wouldn't.
