Five Thoughts Following the Patriots’ Win Over the Lions
Ian Logue
Sunday was another solid performance for New England Patriots' quarterback Bailey Zappe, with the rookie seeing the coaching staff loosen the reigns a bit as Zappe was given more opportunities to throw the football and the results certainly saw the rookie have some success.

Most impressive about Zappy was his ability to shake free from a collapsing pocket a few times while still keeping his head up & eyes down-field... And thanks also to the OLmen for sustaining their blocks better than they did last week; and to outlets such as Rham & Double-H for making themselves open to their QB... That's gotta be like an every-game thing now.

The offense will be in even better between-the-20s shape as soon as the bombs to an already-covered Parker are sh!t-canned, along with formations wherein the QB stands alone in shotgun with minimum protection on 3rd down... That's a sack / turnover / injury waiting to happen...

"But the biggest killer for Goff came on a 4th-and-9 from the Patriots’ 32-yard line in the second quarter as the Lions trailed just 6-0..."

- This was one of the stupidest decisions I've seen, nearly equalled in stupidity by the preceding decision... Two bad play-calls & execution, and that was pretty much it regarding any Loins comeback.

Jackie Jones needs to keep his head on his shoulders, because some team's gonna try to burn him with an Out-n-Up eventually... He'll also need to work on becoming a better force vs the run to reach true starter level, but at least he has the juice that every other CB drafted here from 2016 onwards hasn't had.

If the Omen is a no-go for Cleveland, then Pierre Strong MUST be on the game-day Active list... Perhaps Kevin Harris and/or Kid Dyno-Mite as well...
