Mesko receives Ron Burton award - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Patriots punter Zoltan Mesko was awarded with the 2012 Ron Burton Community Service Award on Monday night at the team's annual charitable foundation kickoff gala.

The award, in the name of former Patriots running back Ron Burton, is given annually to a player who models Burton's impact in the community.

"Zoltan is one of the best punters in the league, but he may be the league’s current MVP for his contributions in the community,” said Patriots owner Robert Kraft. “In the 18 years since we established the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation, perhaps no player has accomplished more in the community in such a short amount of time."

The year is starting off on the right foot or should that be the left foot.

Well deserved!! Looks like he does a TON of charity work.

Yup. That young man is well-poised for a post-football career.

I'm happy he's our punter, though, and hope he stays healthy and accurate for many years to come with us.

The winners seem like class acts all. One may wince in retrospect about Warren's offseason diligence or Faulk's suspension the week another RB missed a block on Brady's knee injury. Overall, however, they seem like class acts every one.
