As QB prospects go Lienart is apparently already ahead of the NFL curve. Hasn't even been drafted yet but:

NFL | Leinart fires agent Steinberg
Mon, 10 Apr 2006 21:05:24 -0700

ESPN.com's Chris Mortensen reports USC QB Matt Leinart has fired agent Leigh Steinberg, according to sources with the NFL Players Association. Leinart filed the necessary paperwork with the players' union Monday, April 10, the sources said, and now has a five-day waiting period before he can hire another contract representative.

Steinberg is pretty good at squeezing money out of teams for first round QB's. Wonder who he'll end up with, Condon - Rosenhaus - Willie and Snoop...

Leinart seems to be the real deal. He has given his choke-artist team a chance to win every game. The Cardinals, perennial bottom dwellers, are suddenly a much tougher team to beat. Is it too early to judge his potential after 5 games? I think Leinart is as real a deal as Maroney is at this point (refer to the first post from April).
Two games, Warner was busy dropping the football in the early games.

Even though last night's loss was absolutely devastating, Leinart seems to be the real deal. He has given his choke-artist team a chance to win every game. Two games don't make a career but Leinart has looked very good in both of them. He's also taken them down the field at the end of both and put them in a spot to win the game if they could make a kick. There have to be some teams (starting with Ten and Oakland) that are kicking themselves for passing on Leinart.

Young looks like a glorified option QB right now. You simply can't play QB like that long-term in the NFL. They better hope he learns to throw the ball.

Cutler looked great against the scrubs in preseason. It'll be another yuear before we have any clue on him.

Exactly, and I mentioned that before the draft. He tends to throw deep with a high arc, and many are underthrown.... not NFL standards...and we saw last night that they rarely call a play where he has to throw deep.

How's that for a deep pass? Leinart's first NFL TD, on which he displays many positive attributes - his audible showed intelligence and confidence, his pass showed great accuracy, and was a perfect deep strike.

Brady has never been a great deep thrower, and has problems with medium out routes. Last I checked, Montana didn't have a great arm either.

Cannon arms are over-rated. If a guy like Chad Pennington can be extremely successful, then vision, poise, pocket movement, and pass selection are much more important than arm strength.
