League Doesn’t Respond to NFLPA Olive Branch Offer In Brady Appeal

Steve Balestrieri

The NFLPA and Tom Brady's legal team made a settlement offer to deaf ears in the NFL league office, agreeing to accept a fine but no suspension this week

My sources say there's no timetable on when Goodell will respond to the offer. He wants to make sure he gets this one right.

No matter how hard Goodell tries he cannot make something so wrong, right!!! Ignoring the offer only shows Goodell's ignorance and pompousness..

OTOH this may be legal posturing for Federal Court to show the willingness of the "Brady Camp" to try to work out an amicable decision, it adds credibility to their suit as every effort was made to avoid that legal process...

We need a way of indicating sarcasm in our posts.:)

When I first read the title of this thread I was horrified that Brady was offering a "settlement" To me ANY settlement equates to an admission of guilt. After reading the article, I am somewhat mollified, but given the entire affair is a fraud, that should never included Brady in the first place, even a fine would be unjust.

BTW - maybe someone can clear this up for me, I thought Brady HAD given his phone to Welles, If he hadn't where did the so called damning emails come from?

I don't believe there are any damning emails from Brady. The only texts and emails they have come from Jastremski and MacNally.

I would expect one of the issues the NFLPA would like reviewed in this case is when can the NFL demand a player's personal phone and what are the limits of what they can ask for? If a phone is ok, is a personal computer? Bank records?
