Just about every mock I see has us taking him with one of our 2 first rounders.
I do Not believe we take a WR in the first two rounds but taking one on the second day. Anyone you like for us to grab in the latter rounds ?

I don't see the Pats just unilaterally deciding that they don't need a WR on day one. If the Pats think Samardzija fits their system, they'll take him.

A better reason for passing on Samardzija in particular--though not WRs in general--would be his stated desire to try to play both baseball and football (why couldn't the Red Sox have drafted him, d%#*!@t?). Then again, I think that problem could be fixed by a 10-minute meeting with Rodney Harrison ("Hey, Jeff. Since you occasionally play deep safety, Coach asked me to run a couple drills with you. . . ."). :D

I think it's because he's at ND. Weis is coaching him. Personally, I don't
see it. Watch tomorrow's USC/ND game. I like S.Smith from SC more.
We need youth at db and lb. I'd be content with 2db's and 2 lb's on Day 1.
I can see us taking a WR in there somewhere. But, who knows. Is this guy
committed to football? I doubt it. I don't see Pats taking an early pick
on someone who will be working on his off-speed stuff in the summer.
