HYPOTHETICAL: What will we do if we lose both Moss and Gaffney

First off, I could've wrote that on wikipedia for all I know.

Second, why give up all that for Johnson when we can just ink Moss. It's not like Johnson will demand any less money once he puts up monster #'s with Brady and his contract runs out.

There is no such entry in Wikipedia.

I did not see it, and plus you can edit yourself...

Its a moot point, but I still will take Moss over Chad Johnson, will take both of them, but I rather have Moss..

Move on and make do?

Moss, Johnson and Welker, now that would be nice.

And maybe sign some role players and win just enough games for a superbowl...it's worked for us in the past, and I'm still not convinced Gaffney is anything more than a castaway that Brady and the offensive staff turned into a producer. I'd like to have him, but not if he's going to command Givens/Patton kind of figured, I think he's replaceable for less.

This was written of Chad Johnson's wikipedia page for what it's worth:

On March 2, 2008, Rumors were amid that infact the New England Patriots were not instrested in brining back Randy Moss because they were engaged in trade talks with the Cincinnati Bengals about a trade for Chad Johnson. The early reports from the AP say the Pats will give up a 2nd and 3rd round pick from this upcoming draft and a 2nd round pick in 09' to aquire the disgruntled Johnson.

Otherwise, it's welcome back Reche:rocker:

Wikipedia also said Derek Anderson was going to be going to Carolina, shortly before he re-signed with Cleveland.

I agree with Sean PA Patriot, where are all these picks coming from? It's not like every Pro-Bowl receiver is going to come for a 4th round pick. Even so, Cincinnati has come out and said specifically that they will not be trading Chad Johnson.

A 2nd and 3rd this year, and a 2nd next year? Yeah, that sounds nice...if it was coming from the Dolphins. Everyone knows NE does well enough that all of those draft picks will be at the ends of the rounds, so it's almost like: a 3rd and 4th this year, and a 3rd next year.

Don't see it happening, sorry. If it was legitimate, there would be many more sources besides wikipedia all over it.

Chad Johnson will count $8.8 million against the cap. Trading him or releasing him if you're the Bengals is financial suicide. If they keep him his cap cost is "only" 6.3 million. They'd literally be better off letting him sit out the season if he's that disgruntled rather than taking the cap hit by trading him.
