Who might we have on our boards? We should be able to get two of these players at 23 and 34. We could also move up or down and still get two of these.

I realize that things can change, players can drop, players can move up. And finally, others will disagree. For example, many have Mack in the first. I don't think that this type of situation matters much to the analysis unless we are considering drafting someone from off this list in the top 35 picks. I apologize in advance for missing someone you consider awesome and a strong possibility for the patriots in the top 35.

I have marked my personal board players on this general board for picks through 35 (40 players).

I think you have to add Alex Mack and Louis Delmas to the list. I don't agree with your marked off picks (you like Tyson Jackson and James Laurinaitis much more than I do, for example, I prefer Beatty to Britton, and I don't think Clint Sintim is a top 40 pick), but it's a good start.

Do you think that most analysts have Brown and Jackson out of the top 20? I have Jackson in the 9-20 grouping.

Re: General Round One Board - 38 Candidates

I see it like this:

Out of Reach (6):
QB Stafford
OT Smith
OT Monroe
WR Crabtree
OT A Smith
OLB Curry

80% or better Out of Reach (5):
OLB Orakpo
QB Sanchez
WR Maclin
DT Raji
OT Oher

Small Trade Up Candidates (9) :
DE/OLB Brown
DE Jackson
OLB Cushing
CB/S Jenkins
QB Freeman
RB Wells
RB Moreno
DE/OLB Maybin
WR Heyward-Bey

Likely Available at no.23 (11)
DE/OLB Ayers
WR Harvin
ILB Maualuga
CB Davis
DT Hood
DT Jerry
CB Butler
TE Pettigrew
OT Britton
OT Beatty
OLB Mathews

Likely available at no.34(11)
C Mack
OLB English
WR Nicks
S Delmas
CB/S Smith
ILB Laurinaitis
C Unger
OLB Barwin
RB Brown
DE/OLB Johnson
OT Loadholt

Players in each grouping are not ranked, I just did this fairly quickly. The RB's (Moreno and Wells) are complete wildcards. I could see one going in the top 10 or both sliding towards the end of round 1. I think 34 might be our last chance at Delmas, as I actually wouldn't be surprised to see him go in round 1 if he is the best safety on most teams boards. If Pettigrew gets past Buffalo, I don't know where he ends up.

Re: General Round One Board - 38 Candidates

I've added Delmas and Mack to make it a list of 40.

I've seen a couple, I'm an amateur who's certainly not sold on them in the top 20.
