Sources have told FOX Sports the NFL Players Association and the NFL have had an open line of communication in recent days regarding a potential settlement of Brady's four-game ban for his alleged role in the Deflategate scandal. This follows reports from last week that stated the NFLPA's proposal was ignored by the league office.

No information about the details of positions being staked out by either side or how the discussions are going, besides editorial speculation that Brady will probably not accept a suspension of any length. But I think it's news at least that the NFL is apparently trying to avoid a court case by including an agreement not to sue as part of a settlement. I am skeptical that this comes to anything.

EDIT: whoops, looks like someone else got to this a minute before me! Would a mod mind deleting, locking, or editing this thread?
