You need a membership at ESPN Insider so no link: According to ESPN Asante Samuel is the NFL's worst tackler. Every player on the back 7 or 8 was graded, ( Linebackers, Defensive backs ). Jason Allen was the best DB tackler with 55 tackles and a 0.00% blown tackle rate. Asante Samuel was the NFL's worst tackler with a 26.6% blown tackle rate. The article does not say how many of those tackles went on into the endzone for a touchdown.

He also leads the league in letting easy interceptions float through his fingertips when a perfect season is on the line.

Don't forget that he's a "system" QB and he's subpar at best if you take him away from the "system".

We knew this years ago. Samuel is the king of getting beat on a juke on 3rd and 9.

We mistook Samuel for a physical guy back in 2005 when he laid that killer hit on Jeb Putzier. He was always a poor open field tackler, low contact and poor instincts.

The guy figured out how to jump a route, and made $50 million off of it. Good for him.

The Eagles starting combo of Samuel and Hobbs will keep them out of the Super Bowl.

    jumping routes requires instinct.

Actually, I think Hobbs is capable of doing that all by himself.

Asante isn't much of a tackler--neither was Deion Sanders.

I can believe you typed this, but I can't believe you hit submit...

  18. Does this stat make you feel better? Jason Allen may be the "best tackling DB", but he has been a flat out bust in Miami. This Asante Samuel obsession is getting weird.
