In my need to feed my draft jones I’ve started poking around into different podcasts and there’s good stuff out there.
With the First Pick: An NFL Draft Podcast from CBS Sports
- probably my favorite
- Ryan Wilson, Rick Spielman
- long episodes that get in depth
- longtime GM commenting lends some real cred and interesting inside view of process
- almost no off topic chatter
- real knowledge of specific college game performances
Bleav in NFL Prospects
- also good, unique rankings not just repeat of nfl.com
- Joe DeLeone and Ryan Roberts
- interesting interviews with the prospects
- almost no off topic chit chat
- know all the stats, all the prospects
Guess I started off listening to locals (6 Rings/Catch 22/Patriots Unfiltered) out of habit but the difference is remarkable. Hart, Lazar, Perillo don’t spend all year obsessing about these prospects and it shows. The analysis seems pretty shallow and not sure why I’d listen to them over a former GM etc.
Interested if anyone else has recommendations for others or thoughts on the quality of these guys. Thanks!
