There are boatloads of Christian eschatologists that have set dates for the end of the world. Checking out videos from the 80s and 90s would probably be a good laugh. I would bet that most of them were predicting the apocalypse to occur on some date that has long since passed.

Of course, they've revised their predictions. :rolleyes:

Rev 8:8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
Rev 8:9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

CORRECTION - that should have said the 2ND Trumpet in the OP subject header - sorry about that. FWIW - the 5th trumpet is the rise of the Rev 13 beast from the bottomless pit(Appolyon).

Dear DisgruntledTuneFan,

I am writing to address your concern that the BP oil spill is the 5th trumpet of the Revelation. May I assure you that is not the case. That sound you heard was me farting. Please forgive me, today was chilifest in East Rutherford.

Sincerely,

Rex Ryan
