I think the rule should be right before you fair catch the ball, you do the wave off. To easy to manipulate the gunners if they are in a battle with the coverage guys to not see the signal.

I know there is a strong Bronco bias here in the forum ...
But they are a more complete team ... every single play they can gain an advantage.
doesn't mean they will win ... just means the opponent has to limit mistakes.
