Borges, Al Davis' long time buddy and confidante, had this hit job of an article at the ready, a final blast of impotent resentment directed at Moss and BB from an owner humiliated by an embarrassing heist. Borges, the still bound and gagged plagiarist, was eager to do the Raider dirty work, but powerless to publish his venom. Fortunately for the Boston Plagiarist, Shank acquiesced as a mouth piece of convenience. Today, these Twisted Twins of Boston journalism are the long bony fingers of Al Davis' skeletal hand stretched across a continent, grabbing sadly at an athlete out of reach. Borges, who has plagiarized not only words but the "tough guy" persona of his mentor McDonough, is just a jester in borrowed clothes. Enabled by his negligent editor, fawned over by fellow journalists intimidated by his union influence and connections, how far will he go before Joe Sullivan pulls the plug? As for Shank.. when he's done doing Lucchino's laundry, writing unreadable books, hiding baseball's needlework and acting as the Broadsheet Buffoon's accomplice, maybe he'll take the time to learn a little about America's Game.
