STEITZ SIGNS “FUTURE†CONTRACT: The Patriots signed Oregon guard Nick Steitz to a future contract and have indicated they will allocate him to NFL Europe. Steitz (6-3, 315), who was signed by the Saints as a rookie free agent and cut Aug. 30, will join the Patriots when rosters expand to 80 next month.
