For the past couple of years, the NFL was able to exclude previous transition or franchise numbers from the calculations. With the new CBA those numbers are now included so Charles Woodson's franchise tag number (over $10 million) was now included in the calculations which bumped Nate Clements's franchise tag price. Example closer to home - Adam's 2005 salary was excluded from the calculations. With the CBA it is now included.

Yet another victory for the players.

Miguel...I'm wondering if that will probably limit owners in placing the franchise tags on players. certainly it will be more of a problem if there are many franchise players in one position. Would that be correct?? Seems like there are some smaller new clauses that will help the vets more in general.
