Adalius Thomas was one of nine Patriots to appear at the “Wrap-a-Pat” portion of the charity event held at Gillette Stadium’s East Club.

That's very cool of him to show up for that.

I had thought that if Adalius had apologized to the organization and fans for his remarks and actions I would forgive him. However, I knew he would never publicly apoligize.

But today he represented Patriot Nation at a charity event for holiday cheer.

He was one of nine who showed up. Mr. Kraft seemed pleased with his appearance and gave indication Adalius will play against Buffalo.

    Good move by AD.

Ha Ha. Now shut up and play, if you're allowed.

Thought Warren's remarks were pretty devastating, coming from one i consider a real quiet leader and team player.

It's in some thread from a WEEI show i think.

He's been melting down for 8 weeks now.

He's had plenty of time to think things over.

Adalius Thomas is far from the ideal Patriot, but he's also not the second coming of Pacman Jones or Michael Vick.

Football players have to tolerate things at work that most people don't. He is insufficiently willing to do that. That makes him a bad employee, but being a bad employee doesn't necessarily make you a terribly bad personl.

Just a question/observation--We've seen many more toxic situations than the AD/BB issues get resolved in the NFL.

A couple of the top of my head: Brandon Marshall and Josh McDaniels in Denver after the blowup with Cutler and Marshall demanding to be traded. Or Lance Briggs' brinkmanship in Chicago before last season.

    These got worked out.

Not going to be easy, but I have seen much worse than this get worked out if given time and cooler heads.

No doubt, Mayo. Much more encouraging news than last week.

Do you (or anyone else) suppose there's any remote chance that things could get patched up enough for AD to stay another year? Even with the cap hit spread out over 2 yrs, it's still a bullet to bite. Of course with the probability of no new CBA agreement etc, that'll make it a lot easier to take that hit.

I know the odds are heavy that he'll be gone, I was just wondering if anyone, despite their personal feelings about him, thinks there's any chance he could stay next year too? Is there any chance Belichick simply sat him for the week as punishment for disobeying team rules? Maybe the situation was exaggerated in the media etc--maybe it wasn't as harmful as we first thought.

It'll be interesting to see how hard it is for a trade etc, due to all the teams' knowing how bad we want to get rid of him. It kind of limits our leverage, since everyone will most likely try and low ball NE. I'm thinking maybe a 4th rd pick? Obviously anything is a lot better than just cutting him and getting nothing in return.

I have no idea right now. I just think anything that doesn't fan the flames and contributes to AD putting in the work and the effort on the field is good. Then the FO will reassess things after the season.

The odds are obviously low, but AD certainly has talent that we can use. If he wants to be part of this team, anything could happen. If he doesn't, we move on. I wouldn't hold my breath, but stranger things have happened.

It's amazing how teams can cometogether and this stuff is forgotten. Not saying it will happen, but he didn't really burn bridges publically though being benched twice means there was a serious problem.

If it's just the coach thinks you're not putting out, you do and you whine, stuff like that could be history if he plays great and the team does and develops a chemistry. He's not getting any younger, might be better for him not to have to start over...

Of course that's assuming he does a 180 attitude wise.

Nothing that couldn't be cured by the Pats winning the Super Bowl with AD making the key defensive play. :p

Re: Adalius... One of 9 Patriots to Appear at Charity

I think a lot of it depends on all the stuff we don't know, like how much any of this effects the lockerroom. We don't know how AD is really thought of as a teammate or how many issues there may or may not be in private.

Publicly to me it seems confusing because one year you have him towing the company line, making humble pie shirts etc... and then this year you have a lot of offhanded remarks in the media etc...

In an ideal world, everything could be worked out and AD can start using his talent to help the team win games, but who knows. I'll root for him anytime he's on the field in a Patriots jersey though.

We could use a talented defensive player as much as anything right now but I don't see Belichick going back to a guy who called the media about being sent home. I know I wouldn't trust the guy, charity event or not.
