2016 Draft Day 3: Rounds 4-7 Thread

Does Belichick really strike you as the sort of person to sacrifice value in the draft to make a meaningless statement?

Kind of a weird leap, imo. Belichick probably thinks they got good value for the trade and made it.

Why not just use the high 5th instead of the almost guaranteed very low fourth next year?

Because we don't have many holes to fill this year but might have plenty next year.

Why not try to trade for two fifths then, since our fourth is almost guaranteed to be very low?

WILL have plenty. Be huge roster turnover next year. Even if they sign a couple of theye sign a couple of the bigger guys.

Can we PLEASE dispense with the idea that getting back a 4th or an extra 1st somehow is "sticking it to Goodell?" I've seen so many gleeful comments about how this must be driving Goodell nuts or some crap. No, its not. He took our picks and nothing has changed about it. We had to use assets to try and mitigate the losses, Goodell did his job. He's sleeping well tonight.

There goes Shell. Meh. Think he can be a really good right tackle in a year or two.

I know, man. But, Alex Collins is still there - and may actually be a better value at this point in the draft.

Thanks for trying but I'm inconsolable right now :)

Outside of that extra RB really I feel like we've covered all our needs for this year.

But I am disappointed that we ignored the RB position, and it looks like we're content with average talent at RB outside of Dion Lewis, who we can only hope stays healthy.

Brothers just got taken by Minny.

Thanks for trying but I'm inconsolable right now :)
I hear you buddy. He's not even going to see that many touches behind Karlos and LeSean in Buffalo either...

At this point, I would be happy with Daniel Lasco or Kelvin Taylor. If they managed to snag Alex Collins, that would be pretty sweet.

I don't know if we'll ever see a Vereen/Ridley type draft again under Belichick. RB in the low rounds/UDFA is the most likely scneario imo.

Yeah, it only took two convoluted trades. I'm sure it wasn't a coincidence. Keep in mind, he didn't trade for a fourth, he traded for only a low fourth, unless two of the best teams, in a league where 90% of the teams are snit, go to pot.

It's spiteful, IMO and I like it.
Does forfeiting the higher draft pick in the round apply to next year's 4th as well or was it just this year's first????
