A downer because, no matter how you analyze last year's SB game physically, there is no question, the calculated manner of Walsh's 11th hour false tale, and Tomase's reckless buying-in of it, had to have hit home emotionally to the Patriots. Even as fans, by Sunday morning of Super Sunday, the mood was not upbeat.

We'll never know what effect that crap had on the Patriots (I'd like to think none, since this is the best team in pro sports at shutting out distractions, but truly we will never know), but TomASSe and co. really ruined the first half of that day for me. I just couldn't get into any of the pregame stuff with that junk being spewed everywhere. I had to get out of the house until 6:15 or so to avoid any of it so I could just "enjoy" the game. That was truly a sad day.

Looks like a good thread for the Visiting Lockerroom or someplace... please...no more...it happened...it's over...

There's only one word I can think of for the two of them and it starts with a c and ends with an s.

It has been reported that Tomase suffered a wrist sprain in the early morning hours of New Years Day...
