There are some things the NFL cannot avoid - star players being injured, some teams being chronically inept at drafting or trading for a good QB, weather events rearranging timing or venues. But it seems like a lot of issues are self inflicted, and no, I'm not even getting into anthem protests...
I'm sure everyone on the team and the coaching staff realizes what this game means. Not so much for the historical Brady/Belichick accomplishments, but just the past four years alone being a gradual climb back to the top. Miss the playoffs with 11 wins after your QB gets his knee busted. Lose...
He still thinks he coaches the best team in New Jersey and the best team in the AFC East. I don't see how he can say a damn thing next season. I won't get on him for not getting to the superbowl (it's been all Pats/Steelers/Colts for eight years now) but they haven't even won the division...
This is a huge opportunity. The offenses that can keep up with the Patriots are out. If the defense can keep playing like they did last night, the Pats have a very good chance of winning of the Superbowl.
Rodgers deserves the regular season MVP award he surely has coming, but I am really surprised neither he nor Brees are playing in the NFC title game. The Patriots really need to close the deal this time.
I don't know if today was a case of Colts-esque rust from starting to rest players...
Assuming the Bengals get the job done next week this is pretty good. Denver is going to get destroyed, which means hopefully the Ravens and Steelers tear at each other in the divisional game. I'm just wary of having the reward for #1 seed being games against the Steelers AND Ravens before even...
They're going to have to swallow their pride and admit Sanchez is not the guy. The Jets had every opportunity over the past month to basically back into the playoffs at 9 - 7 and they couldn't even pull that off. That said, they would hang just fine in the AFC West. That division... good...
Another year, another dreadful AFC West team ruining the seeding. I wish they would just go to record for seeding, with the division winners being guaranteed a wild card appearance rather than ranking above a much better team.
One thing that worried me last season and certainly panned out in the playoffs was that so many of the Pats' wins were based upon Brady being as close to error free as a QB has been, and the defense forcing a lot of turnovers. Brady didn't have his best game against the Jets obviously, but he...
The Chargers are the best team they beat so far, and that could matter come playoff time. Putting both the Jets and the Cowboys to 2-3 is great, but beating the Chargers mattered most so far.
Glad they pulled that one out but the gotta stop making so many little mistakes over the course of the game. And there were a few instances where Belichick should have challenged but he didn't. Lots to improve upon before the next game.
And last year it was "Vick should be co-MVP." Brady has been in the discussion of who the top two QBs are that people are arguing about the whole time. Looking at consistency rather than the hype of short term performance, it has been Brady, Manning, and Brees in that order.
He is the...
He worked very well in tandem with Dillon. But he was never able to carry the load as a the featured back. Which is pretty underwhelming for a young player. He isn't even on a team right now, is he?
