The probability that the Patriots would win 19 of the last 25 flips = 1, or 100% ... because it happened.
The name "Brady" is not uncommon compared to many others -- 0.025% of Americans. So what were the chances the Patriots would get a QB named Brady? 0.025% = 0.00025. And yet it...
There may have been threads on this before, but partly in response to Charles Barkley about whether we appreciate, what insane Pats (and/or Brady) stats do you have?
Here are a few:
Since 2001, the Patriots are *averaging* more than 12 wins per year. (Give a little credit to Peyton -- in...
Now stories are coming out reminding people that this guy has had issues going back to at least 2002 at Nebraska, Oregon, St. Louis, etc. With the attention on bullying issues these days (see recent Florida case of 14 year old bullying a 12 year old to suicide and then showing zero remorse...
Great post. I know I could not have said it better.
I hope the media can tell the difference between ugly haircut day and racist threats. They often lose the subtle points.
Tebow might believe that Jesus lived at the time of the dinosaurs. And people say he brings the (media) circus to town, but that's not the way it is or will be with the Pats. I care not.
Tebow plays hard, hates to lose, has good football character, has monster quads, and finds ways to win...
I try not to get caught up in the media stuff, but this thing with Shannon Sharpe is annoying, and the Spygate stuff infuriates me to no end. It is the most nothing thing -- I'll bet most people who talk about it do not even know what it was, which was essentially filming from an unauthorized...
This whole thing is nuts!! How is it bad sportsmanship (and to whom?) not to answer a "how do you feel" question on the field? Didn't BB say Baltimore was better and deserved to win? That the Pats were outcoached and outplayed? Have we ever heard BB blame weather, penalties, injuries, or...
I doubt there are too many comparisons -- each situation is different.
But the Pats allegedly damaged the Jets ... and then lost in the playoffs.
The Celtics had the greatest 4th quarter comeback in NBA history against the Nets to go up 2-1. The Nets were so damaged they ... won 3...
I love the game, but the Pats' success has diminished the regular season somewhat for me. It seems like many of the years, the first half of the season is hoping a disaster does not happen, and then the second half playing for a bye. It feels like the season does not start until the playoffs.
Did Ridley have one fumble or two? Box score says one, but the announcers seemed to keep indicating there were two. We they counting the one where he was clearly down?
(One is too many)
A little while back, both Mannings were sacked within 30 seconds of each other. Not sure if there's some kind of record -- shortest time between sacks for brothers.
Good things Ravens got ride of their OC -- they look SO much better now.
Despite what happened, I would not want to travel on the road to play Houston. Watt was great, but it was more than that -- the pocket was collapsing faster than I can remember. Brady looked out of sync for longer than usual at times.
I do not want to have to deal with this guy for the next 15 years.
Yes, he made some mistakes (and our D induced some), and some players peak in their 1st or 2nd year. But if this is where he is 1/2 way into his rookie year, there's a lot of upside. Compare Joey Harrington, Eric Couch...
I did not think one could actually overreact to how dismal this was, but this post proves me wrong.
What we say was a rookie QB with mediocre receivers throw bombs to receivers behind the secondary, in situations where they should have let nothing get behind them. This was butt-ugly.
The...
Totally agree about Carroll getting a raw deal. The end of his first season he had a totally dominating defense. They lost 7-6, in Pittsburgh, because of injuries to Martin, Glenn, and Coates on offense; the TD happened because Todd Collins did not want to risk hitting Kordell out of bounds...
I've never understood this idea that a Pats backup who never played would have value to other teams. People talk about Cassel, but he actually played 15.75 games.
