1) win both games remaining to secure #1 seed- both teams at this point consider this their SB, so as Branch pointed out earlier this year, get out fast and keep your foot on the gas pedal right thru the 3rd quarter. By that point IMHO they'll both be toast and give up.
2) get Hoyer & Mallet...
That's good, now where is Welker money? Outperformed all other receivers the last few years, plus if you want to bring in a FA WR this looks bad to the rest of the league. IMHO
I'm not the least bit concerned about whether players are worried about some big hit in the middle of the field as I am about a coverage saftety that can deflect or intercept a ball intended for a receiver in the back corner of the endzone. ( Santonio Holmes,Plaxico Burress, etc. etc.)
Monday SBNATION.com ranked this years DEs 1-10. No big surprises, here goes.
1. Jared Crick, 6'6," 285 lbs, Nebraska
2. Billy Winn, 6'4," 285 lbs, Boise State
3. Devon Still, 6'5," 312 lbs, Penn State
4. Fletcher Cox, 6'5," 295 lbs, Mississippi State
5. Kheeston Randall, 6'4," 294 lbs...
I agree with Cowerd's comments today, that teams in cold weather cities should be careful about drafting So. Cal. QBs. and that Landry Jones is not worthy of a first rd, pick. In Brian Hoyer they have a QB that is proven himself in cold weather.
Now back to oringinal thought, Hoyer, BJGE &...
I like Kendall Wright because of his speed, route running & he makes great catches on the sidelines, which alot of receivers can't negotiate.
For those of you that want size in a receiver, how about a real sleeper-
Brian Bostick WR Newberry College 6-4 230 40-4.55, with our last pick take a...
I tend to agree with Michael Lombardi on this one ( on his assessment of Hoyer). Landry Jones at best looks like this years Blaine Gabbert. On average I don't know how many starting QBs come out each year, but I'd guess this year it's three, Luck, Griffen & the kid from USC.
Out of all the...
Hoyer wants to start and BJGE will want more money than we should pay, with Welker, Mayo & others who are more important to the team. If we go with one less QB & RB we can carry a third tight end & another backup lineman. Mallet should be ready to backup TB & BB has been singing his praises. If...
Still think we are going mainly 3-4 next year, but here's two that can play both DT/DE and won't break the bank.
Kheeston Randall Texas 6-5 295
Derek Wolfe Cincinnati 6-5 302 look like Ty Warren types with more sacks
Around 3rd rd for both, as of now.
I think we can get much more than a 4th or 5th. I'm thinking the right offer to the right team might secure us a lower 2nd rd pick. With all the building up of Hoyer by Mike Lombardi and a little bundling magic, how about Cleveland's second 1st rd pick for Hoyer, Law Firm & our 3rd rd pick. They...
PatsFaninPa- you talked about Vinny Curry being in the 35-40 range. I'd have to say he's the hardest player to earmark for were he will be drafted. Found a couple of sights putting him in bottom of the 1st, three or four had him in the third, with the majority placing him in the second rd. &...
AY-YO- Liked Still for awhile now agree he looks good. I just wish Kiper wasn't talking him up so much. Just recently has him in his top 25. Shut up Mel. A month ago he was in alot of peoples 3rd rd.
Last yeat I liked Aldon Smith with our #17, right on the money.
This is just to lighten things up a bit. Please send in the goofiest mock you have come across.
So far I'd go with NewNflDraft.com.- Their 3rd rd has-
Vinny Curry DE/OLB Marshall
Lester FS Alabama
Mcdonald FS USC
Devon Still DT/DE Penn State ( of confusion ) for those of you who don't...
