Looks like the Falcons also put in a claim for Rourke.
I wonder how many teams would have claimed Zappe?
If the Pats had traded down and not got one of the top QB prospects, I was interested in seeing if Rourke could develop.
It wouldn’t be fair to Rourke to be behind two rookie draftee QBs...
That would suck if Rourke becomes a player and Maye and Milton bust, but Rourke deserves a chance, and doesn’t look like he would get it with the Pats.
I have two trains of thought.
Maye sitting for a year as the Pats head to another top five pick could add much needed talent to the team, but I hate having players like Barmore endure another wasted season.
It was interesting that they drafted two QBs with similar games in the same draft.
We will see how they both take to the challenge of competition, more so Maye since Milton could see himself as being on house money.
Both are good backups for each other since they can substitute without...
Now that the draft is over, I will say that if the Pats had the #1 pick in the entire draft, I would still prefer Maye over both Williams and Daniels.
I held my breath waiting for Washington’s pick.
How can you say the Pats won’t come close to the SB in the next five years?
Who saw the Pats 1st SB when Bledsoe got injured and they inserted a 6th round pick to replace him?
The Pats already had a losing record and THIS happens?
I was already looking ahead to who the best players coming out...
Actually the guard was the higher of our 4th round picks, but we got the other 4th rounder from that trade down, and that is where they drafted Baker.
He wouldn’t have been there with our own 5th round pick.
